Looking forward to see some more interesting IG-88c Crew lists!

So I'm about to start playtesting Fearless Fenn... I'm a little frightened but with so many Slicers on Vassal it doesn't seem insane.

The sixth maneuver on the quad is a reverse 1. Funny story - when FFG spoiled the ship at Gen Con, the guy said "this ship, when you place it on the table, it immediately explodes". While everyone laughed at the reference, he said in a kind of quiet, kind of mumbly, and kind of like he was still joking tone of voice: "Just kidding, it goes in reverse". I think a lot of people didn't hear it and s lot of others thought it was another joke...there really wasn't a "wait, what?!" reaction from the crowd.

that... I'm not sure my brain is ready for that. Certainly a great kiting tool, but FFG has overvalued dials before.

Yeah would definitely be an interesting mechanic maybe we judged it too quickly.

Hey! I said I liked that ship!!!!!

I was hoping the quadcopter would have ALL the 1 speed maneuvers, a reverse, a T-Roll, sloop, and K-turn, but nothing faster than 1.

To Froggies: Kylo cuts through shields, so I think he'll see some play.

Thank you Paul Heaver for saying what I was screaming as they analyzed that. :P Kylo RAC will be a thing. One of the best platforms for the crew card besides the Upsilon Shuttle I can think of.

Looking forward to engine upgrade on the QJ. 1 Reverse + Boost = white Zero!

Why don't you think the reverse one will be red?

It's more fun that way. Imagine if the reverse were the only green.

Gotta confess, while it's almost certainly 5 moves + 1 reverse, I'd find it hilarious if it was straight and banks... both forwards and backwards.

Because if you're gonna do it at all, you might as well go all out, eh?

Also: If you can go forwards, and you can go backwards, I will be greatly disappointed if you cannot also stop. :D

I have lists with 2 bots + a 3rd ship with IGD that I almost don't hate, but I always end up a point or two short.

Excellent point!

is there a small ship that can stop without ID?

What is it? How far off are you?

Bear in mind, it's not a good list, but something I think you could do something with is:

Palob (20), Autoblaster Turret (2), Engine Upgrade (4), IG88D (1), Adaptability (0) = 27

IG88A (36), Fearless (1) = 37

IG88C (36), Fearless (1) = 37

101

Basically everybody boosts around to maximize firepower, with one IG turning around each turn. Palob zooms around stealing tokens and causing a zone of exclusion for low HP ships. IG88C and Fearless mean the ships can boost into Range 1 and grab an Evade token, while also grabbing an extra hit on their attack, so they're not giving up much by getting close (and Palob means their sort-of unmodified attacks will go into weakened defenses anyway). IG88A with everyone at PS6 means that you have a pretty good chance of getting your most damaged ship the kill-shot you need to regen a shield. So there's lots of speed, evade tokens, token stealing, and a little bit of regen thrown in. The 100 point version subs in "A Score to Settle" for Fearless on IG88A, but that card's not out yet.

The other option:

IG88A (36), Fearless (1), Tractor Beam (1) = 38

IG88B (36), Fearless (1), Tractor Beam (1) = 38

Ruthless Freelancer (23), Mist Hunter (with Tractor Beam) (1), IG88D (1) = 25

101

You could do the same Fearlessness to "A Score to Settle" swap here, although I don't like it as much. Basically you're always trying to use primaries, but everybody has a Tractor when they inevitably miss, and you get some occasional regeneration. All those Tractors kind of work with Fearlessness, too, as you can manipulate position to trigger it more often. I really looked for a way to bring 4-LOM in here for the droid theme, but it just wasn't happening.

In both of these lists, all these ships with system slots can take Collision Detector for 0 points, which is kind of cool and sort of lets you abuse debris fields.

Have you considered vectored thrusters over engine?

Great podcast. I'm interested in quad, primarily as a scummy debuff support ship.

Unkar pilot with Ketsu crew will be a great combo.

An Oopsilon Sable Void Bison with Rec Spec and Weapons Guidance is going to hit pretty hard.

I, too, am hoping that we get a green straight and banks and a red reverse straight and banks.

Have you considered vectored thrusters over engine?

Not really. You lose access to 88C's ability with that, aND then what's the point?

I was thinking on palob... you're at 101, very close... although Boos>Barrel Roll.

Apparently this is what FFG uses as "the boat"
