EV-ER-REE-BODY GETS A DAM-WONDERFUL TIE!!!

By Joe Boss Red Seven, in X-Wing

Statline of Z-95, dial of a TIE/sf with 5 straight added.

Is that worth 12 points?

Still not seeing the benifit of 'increased visibility' when real space engagements would happen over 100s of kilometers in range. Maybe the mining guild has more engagements in atmospheres of near the surface of planets and need the visibility to actually target enemy ships. I dunno.

Hey, give it TL too!

Well am predicting that we getting him in the next wave :P

I remember back in 2014 when Chris gave a nice Q&A at GEN CON... he said they had limited ships to make ultimately. He talked about adding new universe stuff and gently mentioned Dat MOUSE working on new films and then he strongly acknowledged REBELS.

Sure enough... the man means what he says. I expect that we will see ALL of the goodies in REBELS to make it to X-WING and ARMADA.

THAT WON'T HURT MY FEELINGS AT ALL EITHER.

:D

They actually look cool, and the people complaining about it are I bet the same people who complain about tie classic sight lines.

I think it would make a great addition to the Scum stable. Just use Scyk stats plus dial and away you go. But no Heavy title!

At least till they do the real thing around Wave XIV.

Very torn on this. I like Rebels but .........

Every faction should have things that keep them separate and have a unique feel. It seems like the lines are getting very blurred.

P.S. I have the same mixed feelings about non-scum illicit slots.

did I miss a season of rebles? or did I just get black out drunk watching some episiodes? Seriously its only been 2 sesons right?

"Real" space engagements do not happen in Star Wars, and visibility is a thing in dogfights. Your real space engagements do not use fighters or dogfighting at all. ;-)

If you missed these, then you seem to be blacked out on the latter half-to-third of Season 2.

If all 3 factions have a TIE fighter of some kind, and they are all seen in competitive lists, does the name of the game then change to "TIE-Fighter MIniatures"?

It started as the TIE Fighter Minatures Game. The TIE fighter's been the gold standard since the start.

Joeprah Winfrey in here handing out TIEs like cars.

Well, according to the lore, the cuts in the panels improve visibility(which is not a mechanic in the game), and makes it harder to turn. So yeah, they'd have a different dial.

The silly thing about this is that a regular TIE Fighter pilot can't see the wings. The actual pilot sits back a few feet from the front canopy, meaning his angle of vision is restricted by it to a cone that doesn't reach the tips of the wings. Removing the front third of the solar arrays doesn't add to his field of vision, as he has no way to move his head to a position where his perspective would matter. Unless, of course the Mining Guild is employing pilots with Go Go Gadget Necks.

Well, on the bright side, if he did, he missed helicopter lightsabers.

They could be Kaminoans for all we know.

In the episode they appeared in, they were Rodians.

I always like these guys too... it is a Love-Hate thing kinda.

The big problems with a Mining Guild TIE are:

  • It's supposed to be 'less manouvrable' - but you really can't have a fighter which is cheaper than an academy pilot without breaking the game a bit. A wider frontal arc (as noted) might be an option.
  • Scum already have two 'swarm' fighters, which need to remain distinct in their abilities; the Z-95 (so the Mining Guild TIE shouldn't be a cheap Illicit caddy) and the Scyk (which is an issue as without the title it's a very TIE fighter-esque ship.

... nevermind

They're even uglier than the down-syndromed short TIEs they already have.

Just curious why anyone thinks this thing would have a wider arc. Almost all the rebel ships have open canopies doesn't change the fact the guns are forward facing and fixed. Does this thing have swivel guns or a turrent?

I just don't see a space for something like this to fill.
