Cantrip spell Q.

By Armoks, in WFRP Rules Questions

Hi, I'm a little bit confused by the spell Cantrip. Can a wizard blind somebody / deal damage / etc. by using this spell similarly to the Perform a Stunt action? I want to know what this means: ",which may include influencing a target or other effects."

Cheers

No. If you want to damage a target, use magic dart.

"Influence a target" is sort of a generic key word that means your skill affects their attitude or actions as appropriate to the story. So, for example, if you were applying for employment as a conjurer of theatrical effects at one of Altdorf's famed theatres, you might make a spellcraft check against the stagemaster's discipline to see if you impress him enough to get hiredthat's the sort of influence to which the card refers.

"These are not the Dwarves you are looking for. Move along."

Absolutely!

This is the Perform a Stunt card for magic. All kinds of minor effects that can duplicate skills, or enhance them!

I am thinking this would be great for "juggling" little balls of fire to entertain as well as "unlatching" a door from the other side. They can be useful, like "Protection from Rain".
