A little Victory dance.

By Englishpete, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

This fleet is designed to combine squadron superiority with a control element. Ideally the enemy make me go second and pick Contested Outpost. Slow roll with squadrons out front. Sit on the Outpost for a turn or two, then use squadrons and control to select targets of opportunity.

Why would I pick Contested Outpost, you dont have boosted comms so the only way you will function is by staying in one spot. Balls to you getting points for that.

Those X17s are basically pointless, not enough damage output to justify them.

I'd have to agree. I recommend replacing all the XI7s with OEs, or maybe get 2 spinals instead.

I'd also be wary of minefields since you could end up facing an Interdictor that can just screw with your careful placement. The same applies to Dangerous Territory, but at least there it can't harm you.

I ran a fleet like this last week (but an interdictor in place of one VSD) and I really wished I had OEs. The amount of speed trapping you have simply with Konstantine is tremendous, add to that the tractor beams and you'll get a lot of close-range shots in. Save yourself the heartache I experienced and make sure you don't get black blanks.

In my version of the list, I cut out the rogue squadrons and could afford a pair of Gozantis to push my squadrons around. They were free decisive damage against an opponent without a squadron answer, and were a significant speed bump against an opponent with squadrons. I've improved the list by adding Dengar so they can continue slipping around and getting pot shots.

Beware another Konst fleet with G8 on Interdictor. VSDs will never close to use the Black. Advanced Gunnery all the way and your Obj ship is no threat. (see pasewi fleet above)

Your Rhymer can be locked down with a single squad; maybe trade an Agg or 2 for Intel.
