EDIT: Yeah, why put it anywhere but 10B?
Edited by ZaltyreCampaign advice please
Yep, pure luck had the Trueshot at the search token on the upper left-hand corner of Tile 12B, which is accessible from the start.
OL doesn't choose trueshot location-it is random.
Sorry guys, I think you got that wrong. Here is the corresponding section from the first page of the Shadowrune Questbook.
Also no additional rules on this are included in the quest description itself. Same is true for the runekey in encounter 1 of the quest.

Yes, this is indeed the case. The game usually uses different colored objective tokens if things need to be randomized.

Well, dang. I've played Monster's Hoard 3 or 4 times, and I've always thought the special rules had that token placed randomly. I stand corrected.
Edited by ZaltyreWell, if Zaltyre was mistaken as well then I am in good company! However, even though that was messed up, I think we would actually have done better if we hadn't gotten the Trueshot on the first draw. Even if the OL (me) had placed it elsewhere, the reinforcement rules would have allowed us to eliminate the threat with significant ease. We actually ignored the monsters for the first turn because we thought we had it in the bag, and got KO'd for our efforts. If we had eliminated one of the Elementals (open group) first turn, things would have been even easier.
