Howdy Y'all,

I was thinking about how to make Norra Wexley work and realized that if you combine R5-K6 and C-3PO you could get a nasty combination with her ability (provided you had focus' and already had a target lock on the enemy).

r5-k6

After spending your target lock, roll 1 defense die. On a (evade) result, immediately acquire a target lock on that same ship. You cannot spend this target lock during this attack.

C-3po
Once per round, before you roll 1 or more defense dice, you may guess aloud a number of (evade) results. If you roll that many (evade) results (before modifying the dice), add 1 (evade) result.

My thought was that you could guess aloud '0' with c-3po before rolling for k5-k6's ability, thereby guaranteeing an evade result, and giving you the target lock. Similar to how C-3po works with Lando. Does that sound legit? If you could get another focus then you could potentially have an extra evade and hit.

Yes, that would technically work. It amounts to a more expensive Fire-Control System that requires you to have a Target Lock to get started.

It should work. The question becomes how do you get a F+TL, and is it worth 5 points since it doesn't help you actually get it. All it really does is allow you to spend your TL. You'd probably be better off with R3-A2 and Ezra in all honesty.

It works, but that doesn't mean it's good.

Alot of work just to have TB juke or crackshot bypass it.

But you have 3PO on board for defense of you know you aren't going to use that TL that round. Gives you options, you know.

Hmmm... feels wrong somehow (Like the Droid only cares about the result of the original die), but I think it might work. Since you need PTL to get TL focus anyway, though, R2-D2 is really attractive for Nora, so there's certainly an opportunity cost

Yea I am just struggling to come up with a way to use her ability. PTL + r2 seems like a good combo too, but then your defenseless. At least with this targetlock shenanigans you have a chance of using c-3po for defense (if you didn't need to regen a target lock).

something tells me that isnt going to work from a logical standpoint, but C3P0 doesnt state "when defending" so....

All I can say is I guess the designers knew what they were doing when they made the illicit cloaking device roll a red die. Sabine's TIE with 3PO would be pretty broken with a reliable cloak.

Cloaking in itself, even prenerf, isnt broken at all. Adv Cloaking makes it broken lol which is a phantom only thing.

I actually kinda hope the TIE Striker is literally a phantom-type ship with a slightly different role. Give it cloaking, but since it wont have access to Adv Cloaking, the cloak wont be the ONLY THING it does other than throw primary weapon dice.
