Arquitens/Pelta version speculation

By Green Knight, in Star Wars: Armada

We have info on 3 of the 4 ship versions - both for the Pelta, but only one for the Arquitens.

This is where we discuss what we know - and don't - about the ship stats.

Yeah, I know there have been similar threads, but none have looked closely at the ships themselves.

PELTA

Known:

Hull: 5

Shields: 3/2/2/1

Command: 2

Squadron: 3 (this could be 2 for the Assault version)

Engineering: 4

Speculation:

Defense Tokens: Evade, Redirect, Brace (from the components in the pic)

Speed: 2 (from the components in the pic)

Yaw: 1: II, 2: I/I or maybe II/I (it's a speed 2 small ship with ET option, so this makes sense to me)

Versions:

Note that the ship card and ship token show different versions.

The one on the token has red + black dice, and blue + black for AAA. I think it says Assault Ship when I zoom in.

The one on the ship card is the Modified Command Ship, with red + blue, and a single blue AAA.

My bet is that the main difference will be that the Assault version gets Ordnance, while the Command version has the new Fleet Command icon.

OR The Command could have no Ordnance, but 2 Command, and the Assault 1 of each, like the Interdictor?

Other icons are Officer (duh!), Support Team and Offensive Retrofit.

Wouldn't it be cool if the Command could take 2 officers?

I strongly doubt either ship will have either Ion or Turbolaser.

Cost: The Assault version is more costly, but it's hardly a heavy hitter. Around 60. The Command, a bit cheaper, but not much.

ARQUITENS

Known:

Hull: 5

Shields: 2/2/2/2

Command: 2

Squadron: 1 (this could be different form the other version)

Engineering: 3

Speculation:

Defense Tokens: Evade, Redirect, Redirect, Contain (from the components in the pic)

Speed: 3 (from the components in the pic)

Yaw: 1: I, 2: I/I, 3: I/I/I (it's a speed 3 small ship with ET option, so mostly because it's different from the Glad - and because it won't be double arcing as easily as a CR90)

Versions:

Note that the ship card and ship token show the same version. Both say Light Cruiser and the values match.

The Light Cruiser has Officer, Support, Defensive, Turbolaser.

Question is: does it also get Ordnance? The lore shays it has some missiles. But will the Light Cruiser have it? Or is that for the other version? The Attack Cruiser or some such? I've no idea - on the one hand the Imps have enough Ordnance now, on the other hand it fits their profile.

If I have to guess, I'd say both Ordnance and Turbolasers. It has only 1 Redir (2 with Needa) is TRC abuse is limited. It has black in only one arc (barring Rapid Reload), so it won't be OP in that regard either.

What would be really cool? The other version isn't a combat ship at all, but a Command or Communications ship. With the Fleet Command icon! That would be a real good surprise, no? Or did the Imps get enough goodies with the Interdictor?

Cost: Hard to say, I'm not good at points, but around 60? Or is that too high? Mid-fifties then? No idea on the other version since I don't know any real stats.

Fleet Support has gone to both sides.

As long as Experimental Retrofits are Empire Only, Fleet Command will be Rebel Only.

Now, will a future wave provide other-side options? Perhaps... But at the moment, that's how its going to run.

This is my thought as well...but it would be awesome if the Imps got a Communications Ship with Fleet Command :P

Almost as awesome as a Battlecruiser with an Experimental Retrofit.

Now we're talking! :D

Imp Fleet Command could make Tarkin a really viable commander, despite his huge cost. Food for thought.

One reason it would likely be on a large ship so that they could not be spammed and overload the game.

A useful detail (IIRC) is that they don't include cards in an expansion that a ship can't take and usually don't have a slot on a ship and not include an upgrade for that slot.

So Phoenix Home: Officer/Support Team/Offensive Retro/Ordinance/Fleet Support

Arquitens: Officer/Support Team/Defensive Retro/Turbolaser

It is possible both versions won't have all the upgrades. But none will likely have more than is shown

Based on what I learned at GenCon, the Fleet Command is strictly a Rebel option in Wave 5.

I'd say your guesses are pretty solid otherwise.

I was thinking Waves 7+

Yes. That's what I used as a basis.

With the arquitens it could be missing one of those shots of the unique officer grants it. Obviously the frontrunners for that are dretro and support.
