What? Are you saying that without the second torp slot, you would *never* see the contracted scout on the table?
Remove One Torpedo Slot - Would That Be Enough To Nerf Contracted Scouts?
What? Are you saying that without the second torp slot, you would *never* see the contracted scout on the table?
Unlikely to be used more than bare-bones Bumpmaster.
While right not we have all four pilots possible to be used, and even at different roles.
That's a good example of gamedesign, for a moment remember how many of YTs have seen the light of day.
Dash, Han, and Chewie in YT-3700 list, That's it. A example of what will happen if the torps go away. Because without EM they are overcosted, and as such both CS and Tel would reach E-wing level of "meh"
Sure thing, bumpmaster, Titled Dengar and Manaroo would stay. But that's a blow.
Green squadron has 4 hp's,in arc only, cost 19
Green Squadron Pilot says hi.Completely agree. A PS3 pilot being "Elite" is just asinine, from a lore perspective.
How come most ppl weren't bothered by the lore aspect of PS3 (or 4 if we consider Black Squadron Pilots) ships with EPT before Jumpmasters ?
Blacks have 3 hp's,in arc only, cost 14
Jumpmaster's have 9 hp's,and a pwt, cost 25
That's why, as others have said several times mechanics>lore, this is a prime example. The generic jumpmaster is laughably undercosted or over equiped. Like it or not in comparison it's fact.
Edit: This isn't taking upgrades into account but the real slap in the face is the dials, they are not identical but between the 3 are pretty equal. A fast interceptor, a light manueverable dog fighter, and a moon freighter should not move equally.
My Green squadrons come at 17 points and with two EPT. And they do this because they were originally 3 points overcost at least. Blacks are fine priced and as far as I know those TIE-Swarms are fine with jousting Contracted Scout. They just do not like Dengar. Now the dial really is … that dial feels like power creep.
Some people having a difficult time with a simple question, I see.
Personally, I loathe the whole "Discuss." meme thing. I think it's patronizing and unnecessary. Borderline arrogant, even.
What? Are you saying that without the second torp slot, you would *never* see the contracted scout on the table?
The 3 scout list will likely be dead. So the only use for a scput would be Bumpmaster. If you're taking one in a list for the torp (maybe with Boba) you're probably better off taking Manaroo (+1 PS and epic support once torp is spent for2 points more).
Contracted Scouts doesn't need a nerf. The whole meta will shift once Wave 9 hits and all the anti Arc Dodgers change it. Once you don't have to deal with Palp Aces for 50% of your games, you are free to build other types of lists. Get enough shots to blast one U-boat before it fires and you are doing fine. Just don't go with 3 ship Rebels lists.

That really sounds like the kind of issue you need to work through with yourself. You know, rather than expecting the rest of the world to automatically share your opinion.
We're not psychic, you know.
+2 pts on uboats acrosse the board. Problem solved
Everyone quit whining. Problem solved.

that's possibly the only thing less likely than seeing FFG errata a pre-existing card ![]()
I've suggested this but never really asked for discussion.
What if all large ships had to have a title? Then you would not see three contracted scouts.
Nothing nerfed but what a change to the game.
the easy nerf should have been to eliminate the EPT slot on such a low skill pilot!!!

well, we've seen Tactician getting Limited, though, so it MIGHT ACTUALLY HAPPEN!
What if all large ships had to have a title? Then you would not see three contracted scouts.
Then you can't use anything other than the ones with titles. I wouldn't like it. Why bother with titles if you can only take the ship with the title? It makes no sense. They have other YT's in the game world that you should be able to fly that don't have to be the Falcon or the Outrider.
Really....the problem with Contracted Scouts is that it beats a certain type of ship list, specifically Rebel Shield Regen lists. Oh, there are some others, but overall, it's not like it can't be beaten. The problem is that you have to build a list that can beat Palp Aces and beat U-boats. That's the hard part. What can usually beat U-boats is what loses to Imp Aces. Soontir Fel has been around since Wave 2, so no one is going to complain about how he needs to go away. If Wave 9 can really bash PTL Aces down like it's supposed to, then we shouldn't have a problem building a list that can defeat U-boats.

I know there are most likely hundreds of YT freighters out there. But for the theme how many should fly better then fighters? Requiring them to fly with a title makes them the ones we've heard so much about. Otherwise, without a title, I would love to limit them to their own dial, 2 speed maximum, no K-Turns, S-Loops, T-Rolls and Barrel Rolls.
[Edit] yes I know this skews the points on those ships that are suddenly limited. But this is Star Wars: X-Wing. It feels more like freighter combat central. Why would the Rebels have ever bothered with hard to maintain B-Wings, or hard to replace fighters? Why bother stealing the X-Wing from the Empire. Just use the thousands of freighters out there now. <sarcasm> Combat ready ships shouldn't be a match for freighters <\sarcasm>
Edited by Ken at SunrisePssst, CEC's secret is that they don't make frieghters and transports, they make customizable gunships in the guise of civilian ships. Look at the YT-2400...what is this thing gonna haul except ass? Or small illegal shipments of contraband. At least the YT-1300 had forward mandibles that could latch onto large cargo containers. And have you noted the engine to mass ratio on these things? The CR-90 is almost 50% engines and reactor! The engines on the Falcon are at least 25 % of the saucer, maybe more depending on the internal layout. What isn't part of the engines or that stupid outrigger cockpit on the Outrider is huge oversized guns. Yeah, I don't have a problem with these ships having dials that compete with fighters.

That would rightfully piss off a lot of people who bought multiple Jumpmasters or Lambda Shuttles or the like.
Also, intentionally killing off an archetype is an extreme answer that should only be used as a last resort when there's no other choice.

Pfff, standard cargo containers fit just fine onto the belly of the YT and VCX series freighters.
I mean that kind of container:
You transport a lot of those on YT series freighter in X-Wing alliance and I got swear I remember to have seen the same in Rebels too. but the google image search brings nothing up, maybe I try to find the episode later and make a screenshot.
the title idea would be pretty cool if thay actually made more then 1

Why not kill the crack swarm and A-wing swarm while we're at it by removing their EPTs too?
After all, they too are such low skill pilots!!!
If you eliminated their second torpedo slot, you'd kill the build. They simply wouldn't have a chance of ever killing an entire Palp Aces squad.
I know you greedy Imperial players don't think that's a problem, but it actually is. Once triple U-Boat is gone, fat turrets, regen, and quad TLT come back. What positive play experience based lists, I sure miss facing those!

I know, that is the only bad part. But over all I think it would be good for the game and theme of it being a Star Wars game.

it's a bit of a personal crusade really.

AW SHI~
That looks like the FFG Boat! It's a space tug that delivers from the galaxy far away!
No wonder it takes so long ![]()
