Accuracy correct clarification

By Jayrv1981, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Hi

Please confirm that the defender must role defense dice vs.accuracy corrector.

Ie. Phantom Player rolls 4 attack dice and has 1 hit and 3 blanks.the phamtom player uses accuracy corrector to cancel all his results for the guaranteed

2 hit's.

The defender roles his defense dice as normal and rolls two evades.

So the final result is a miss.no damaged dealt.

Please clarify that this is the correct method and that accuracy corrector doesnt provide two indefensible hits.

Thanks

Correct. The Accuracy Corrector effectively replaces the attack roll with an outcome of two [boom] results. These are treated as normal by the defender for the weapon being used.

The confusion might arise from the Autoblaster Turret/Accuracy Corrector interaction when used on the VCX100, in which case the [boom]s are unblockable - but only because the Autoblaster Turret says so.

Thank you thespaceinvader for clearing this up

If you want two indefensible hits, pair it with an autoblaster/autoblaster turret :D

And if you want 4 indefensible hits, dock an attack shuttle to the VCX-100.

First time I ran into that (with a TIE Phantom) I cried just a little bit on the inside.

Second time I ran into it I burned the Ghost down in 2-3 turns, from a safe distance. It's not an especially powerful build, but I imagine it's fun to roll out every now and then.

And if you want a hot dog, go and buy one

Rolling defense die is not optional, it may be pointless in some cases, but by the rules rolling defense die is not optional. So, if you absent mindlessly roll them in a pointless situation you have done nothing wrong.
