Apparently, Kari Wraithstalker enables Human players to incude one Latari Elves unit. Since Kari is a release unit, I guess we won't have to wait very long until they are released; perhaps even Wave 0 .

I doubt wave 0 myself. Probably wave one and or some sort of deluxe for the Elves.

Excellent! Even more excited for the release of this game now! I guess this confirms at least 4 factions near the release of the game? I'd assume that the 'evil' side would also have their equivalent support army.

My guess Wave 1 Latari and Uthuk starters

Wave 2 Dwarf and Orc starters

That would be PERFECT!!

But I highly doubt it. My guess is they will up army count to 4 quite fast and then concentrate on fleshing these out before releasing more factions (if at all). I seriously doubt there will be six playable factions mid-2017.

You bet - I really look forward to including a unit of elven archers in my army. With the elven disposition to archery, I wouldn't be surprised if they got to choose between low-initiative and high-initiative shots just like other units with their melee attacks which would be seriously interesting .

This is an interesting move. Assuming elves have an archer unit, and assuming elves are released before any new human stuff we haven't seen yet, her ability will give the Daqan faction a way to muster archers before having their own archers released. The developers can take their time with Daqan archers because they're covered for the moment.

If FFG is hoping this game takes off then they have to be thinking what are the different options for players.

We know in Runewars there are

Daqan (Humans)

Waiqar (Undead)

Latari (elves)

Uthuk (Demon Dudes)

Orcs

Dwarves

Mercenaries

In that alone there are a lot of options that could be offered, and even within those factions we have seen hints at specializations or troop configuration options that would translate well into a MINI Table Top game. They have solid lore and IP To work from. Lets hope they present it in a way that keeps us interested and coming back for more.

I really hope Dwarves end up being their own faction. I want an army of dwarves armed to the teeth and filthy.

If they come to this game they will. Dwarves of Dunwarr are their own nation. Dwarves do live in some of the Human cities too.

I'm really hoping they put out a book covering this world they've created.

I liked what they did with the Worlds of Android book and I can see this working as well.

Most of us fully expect exactly that after their announcement of more Worlds books during GenCon In Flight report.
