[Empire] Epic Ramming Speed

Just picked up my first (of eventually 2) Gozanti finally. This list is the product of a couple days theory crafting and I may be in love.

The idea is simple. Coordinate a sizeable Tie swarm (9 ties, and they're all the squadron howlrunner actually leads, which satisfies some fluff for me), and position the stress battering ram for the best results. This gozanti can really move, and if it needs to deal with a pesky corvette then it can deploy a screen of cluster missiles- I mean 4 bombers to deal with the target. Of course it still has a dual laser turret but to be honest that's mostly for decoration. I want to Tokyo Drift my gozanti into so many ram kills and after breaking my opponent's formations and hearing the lamentations of the enemies little ships I want to nail in the doom with a stress bomb in the middle of the enemy pack. It's going to be so much fun to fly!

Strong list. I suggest you find place for Ion Pulse missiles and Assault missiles on your bombers. The former will help with your intention to ram and this way you can do the same in bulk (alternatively, impedes Huge ships' energy gain), and the latter is just an amazing way to spread damage across multiple ships. If you are feeling particularly mean, you can follow up your ion pulse & assault missiles barrage with Adrenaline Rush cluster mines with two bombers, while the third still rains missiles. Next turn, you can still do your ion/mines combo.

I wasn't particularly sold until I saw the 8 Obsidians. Wow that's terrifying. Overall it looks like an impressive squad. I agree that Ion weapons would go a long way toward setting up roadkill for your carrier.

Speaking of the carrier, I noticed you have the Vector title, but no Docking Clamps. Without that Cargo upgrade, you can't carry any bombers. You'll have to drop either Engine Booster (nope!) Or Ionization Reactor (sad). Or drop the title and fly the bombers separate, which I also dislike. Without the reactor you have 8 points left. I'd probably drop the reactor to put Ion Pulse Missiles on one bomber and Ion Torpedoes on another to help set up the ramming. Maybe? Really good squad, and relatively simple, but it's tough tinkering with it to get the desired effect.

If you decide not to dock the bombers, might I suggest Push the Limit on Howlrunner to help maintain her Stealth Device? The 4 point initiative bid, isn't doing much for your squad.

Ahh! I knew something was missing lol. Forgot that the gozanti doesn't just come with its clamps stapled on! Right well I can drop the title then, and two of the bombers can take cluster mines for a full 300 points. Haha

I could instead drop extra munitions from 2 of the bombers to pick up ion torpedoes on each of them, if I drop the reactor for clamps. I'll fix the above post.
