I was having some difficulty in deciding what to fly for a local tourney tomorrow.

I now know it will be Rebel-based and have R2-D2. Seems a fitting tribute to a little robot that has brought me joy for the past 39 years. Rest in peace, little fella. Rest in peace...

I was having some difficulty in deciding what to fly for a local tourney tomorrow.

And also if your dice go against you or if someone is a butthead, just beep and bloop at them keeping R2's spunky little spirit with you.

I remember when R2 came to my school in 1981. I was in grade 1 in Australia, as far as I was concerned it was the real R2. Not many films can claim to influence multiple generations over the decades.

As I said, I flew Rebels today at our local tournament (1 of 3 players, actually) with a list that featured R2-D2, just as a tribute.

I have long since passed caring about uber-competitive meta lists, and enjoy playing what I enjoy playing. So my list was as follows:

Kanan ( VCX-100 ) w / Recon Specialist & Tactician

Keyan Farlander ( B-Wing ) w / Rage (ton of fun, by the way) & Fire Control System

Rookie Pilot ( X-Wing ) w/ R2-D2

This thread is not supposed to be a critique on my list, but a tribute to Kenny Baker, so please don't bombard this thread with "should've taken this", or "shoulda flown that". I know what competitive is, and I chose not to fly it. In the spirit of the happy-go-lucky droid, I flew casual, gave more than one person a run for the money, I had fun, and I ultimately lost.

Couldn't've been a better way to spend the day. Thanks Kenny. You the man.
