According to FFG this is not allowed.

Your are note allowed to use notes on your ship. Because the information is hidden - yet not. http://m.imgur.com/XQdwzcD,8myIJia

I approve.

Personally I invented a phase I call the "decloak" phase. Where I ensure I verbally state my decloaking decision.

This phase exists even when no phantoms are on the board. Confuses people sometimes.

I know a lot of people who will write that sort of thing on the back of their hands before a tournament. Big sharpie notes. :D

Boy do I need that. I forget EVERY TIME.

man I forgot to decloak like four times last night... I need that note.

Echo only shot once.... lined up many great shots..... but still clocked.

I need to put that on my painbot ship too.

Four games yesterday, lost two of them by three hull points. Painbot was forgotten in EVERY SINGLE GAME.

I'd still find a way to forget.

I forgot my lone wolf reroll WHILE LOOKING RIGHT AT MY LONE WOLF CARD as I used my Palp ability to flip a blank to an evade.

I forgot to recharge my shield on R5-P9 Poe the other day...Poe died the next turn. But it was okay, My ARC-170 piloted by Poe's mom (Shara Bey) killed the remaining Imperials in revenge for her son.

I approve.

So what you're telling me is you announce that it is decloak phase even when there are no Phantoms being played....

I approve of you, sir.

Lol, saw the subject title, "According to FFG this is not allowed." and thought to my self, "Well, it definitely isn't clickbait titles" :P

I think it is to prevent people from gaming the swiss with MOV and SOS scores. If you got the entire schedule you can chose how much to win by. With the Intentional Draws controversy at the Roanoke Regional, prohibiting note taking makes more sense.

I find that the big blue cloak token next to my ship is usually enough..... usually.

So. Technically not allowed? That's dumb. If you write it on a piece of cardboard and it lays flat like a token does that count? People are allowed to use custom tokens.

(Puts a giant 11x17 peace of board on the field. Remember to decloak!!!)

Someone should make an acrylic focus token with built-in flashing lights. That ought to get your attention.

I'm not sure if you can use a ID token as a reminder. If you can then...

You can't take notes but you can paint "DECLOAK DAMNIT" on the top wing of the ship.

You wouldn't have to pay much...that's like 3 dollars in parts.

Get thee to thine radio shack!

I always get an extra Cloak token, and when I'm cloaked besides the one on the map. I put the extra in the right corner of the map next to my pilot cards, but in front of them. So when I look at my cards I always see the tokens. I do this when I get a crit on me or an enemy too.

Works fine for remembering!

What do you mean forget to decloak? I mean, is there a time when you would purposely... not decloak?

I'm not sure I'm familiar with this. I don't think I have ever had a round where I thought, even for a second, that I would not decloak. It's just such an integral part of the decision making process during the planning phase that I can't see how anyone could forget it.

Cloaking after a shot? Now that on the other hand can be easy to do when you're riding high on Gunner/FCS dice elation!

I find it best to hold onto those tokens when making an attack so you can plop them down right after. As for decloaking, well... even though you should be decloaking every single round it's best not to try and remind yourself in this way. I've learned the hard way to always ask if my opponent is set before announcing a decloak. If you say Imma decloak or grab that template before your opponent is set you're basically writing them a letter of intent. Oh, you're decloaking? Nope, sorry dude not quite set yet!

The best way to remember is to set your cloak tokens up next to your cards. Visual reminders are just another way your opponent can read you.

In short. Just be better Phantom pilots.

My problem comes not in remembering about decloaking during the planning phase but in remembering to do it when my opponent has a ship that moves before any of mine do because I am usually fast with setting dials then end up waiting for my opponent to finish setting his that when he is done I have forgotten about decloaking and will say "alright if you are done with your dials then get to moving your ship(s)" then when it is my turn to move a ship I look down and see the big blue cloaked token right next to my ship and growl in frustration at it happening to me again.
