Ok, so you've gotten a Rebel Tie Fighter, now give us an Imperial Arc 170

By DiggityDug, in X-Wing

They are cannon,

Shadow squadron took a ton of them after the Empire took over and retrofitted them for imperial use:

Heck, Kenner even made a toy out of it.

So Fantasy Flight, if we are gonna go full on Swingers and start doing some swapping, its only fair if both sides get a chance to fly their neighbors ship. If only one side gets to do it, then its cheating. You wouldnt want to be involved with that would you Fantasy Flight?

An imperial arc with a clean paintjob would be fantastic. Plus, imperial astromechs.

None of the astromechs, including R2-D2 and BB-8 are indicated as Rebel only. Interesting.

I know right? Rebels are gettin illicit slots. Lets get some love for the Imperial Astromechs!

Which is why Scum got their Salvaged Astromech-slot.

Astromechs were intended to be restricted to Rebel ships by no imperial ship having a astromech slot; however when S&V was introduced* the original design would have been overturned and to prevent that no Scum-ship got the vanilla Astromech-slot.

*Remember please that the leader designers changed between Waves IV and V (or was it V and VI? I forgot)

But it's so meh, and you know they'd never give us a regen droid.

Cool looking ship but what does it add to the Imperial stable? Astromechs? Big deal. 98% of the Rebel Astros are complete dross. Do you really think they'll come up with some super cool new ones just for a single ship? :(

eh they'd probably gut the astromech slot and put a Tech or Sensor in there knowing the imperials

Fun.. .it adds fun. Perhaps not fun for the hyper-competitive tournament crowd. But as I am not willing (nor possibly able) to compete at that level, I think it would just be fun.

If they did this and brought an astromech ship to the empire, I think they'd create a new, proprietary astromech droid upgrade slot like they did for Scum. Then, I feel like there'd have to be at least one other ship that takes advantage of that... but FFG doesn't seem to mind creating special rules and cards for just a single ship.

I would be fine with this.

As a player, if the empire wants a 1 agi ship they can have it. Perhaps change the astro to EPT, sensor, or crew.

Sure. No title; no droid...you can have all you want. I'd even throw a free Scyk into the deal.

Imp Astromechs I think could be fun, giving the ARC something uber unique.

My main question is title. The Alliance Overhaul title doesn't make sense for an Imp ARC. What would you put in its place?

Sure give them to the imps as well.

Make a imp only astromech slot.

Then give them v-wings!!

If they did an imperial astromech it would have to be like salvaged astromech and be a new slot to get around the non rebel only rebel astromechs

Imperial Astromech. (Not a particularly creative name, but oh well.)

For ARC-170s, V-wings, and Vader's Eta-2 Actis.

Imperials have pleeeeeeenty of small ships left without resorting to prequel repaints tbh

If the Imperials get a prequel ship it'd be the V-wing. Unfortunately for them, the V-wing's design space is saturated with TIEs.

Nah...ETA-2. Painted black with Imperial logos... Flown by Vader himself... With an astromech slot.

That's a singular ship though. You'd have to really stretch for other pilots.

Plus the model would be almost too small to sell. :P

That's a TIE fighter, the single most ubiquitous ship in the entire galaxy.

That's a TIE fighter, the single most ubiquitous hip in the entire galaxy.

ubiquitous hip is the name of my pop punk band.

I would love to see the ETA in the game though, I really enjoy it and the Vwing design wise.
