We need some female villians.

By DarthBahamut, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

While more female antagonists would probably be a good thing, I'm not sure I'd want to see a bunch of Force Users in Scum. Just like I don't want to see a bunch of Hunters in Imperial or Rebel (even though they have some). I'm slightly concerned that trait-wise, the factions will be less and less different. Or am I just imagining things :)

Maybe Ventress can be "ressurected" by the sisters and come back with droid legs... oh... wait...

I know this is a joke, but Mother Talzin is also dead, so that's fairly unlikely

So... ressurect Mother Talzin also... :)

i hear Obiwan dies at the end, and maybe Vader too, i haven't got that far though, so don't spoil it for me.

I agree with keeping the traits mostly within the factions, but I'm okay with a little crossover. Like Jabba being a leader.

Well, then I want Darth Talon if we are just going off the IA time line rails completely.

Ventress and Mother Talzin are dead, and Clone Wars era characters. While I would like to see Clone Wars characters I'd prefer them to either have ones that fit this time period or they start releasing Clone Wars era expansions. But at this point in time the game is firmly in the GCW era, so they will be pulling characters from that time. Now that said that does leave us a little short on female villains, I'm all for what someone mentioned before about alternate sculpts of female versions of figures we already have but they might be a tough sell for casual players and players who already have enough of that figure for skirmish. So I guess hope for the Seventh sister, and hope that we get more female villains in upcoming Stars Wars content and that Mara Jade might be reintroduced into canon.

My point is, she's dead, and from the Clone Wars and yet has been added to X-wing. And she's a pilot of a ship that featured very late in season 2 of Rebels.

Being from Clone Wars or dead doesn't exclude her from showing up.

Also since she didn't actually die in the Clone Wars TV series, the books aren't cannon.

She may well not actually be dead in the current Disney versions.

She's one of the more recognizable female villains so it would be strange for her not to show up.

The reason she is in X-wing is that she was supposed to fly the Lancer, the ship was created for Clone Wars and when the show was canceled they just kept the asset and ended up using it in the Rebels show. And the book is canon, every book, comic, and pretty much everything else that is coming out now is canon in Star Wars. Furthermore the book where she dies in takes the last two four episode stories arc she was going to have in the Clone Wars, she was planned to die there, you can even find some rough animatics, I think it was a Clone Wars panel the video is on the official Star Wars youtube channel, from part of the book when from when the were working on it for season 7 of the Clone Wars.

I will agree that she is a really recognizable female villain, and provided she were alive or that they added the Clone Wars to this game then I would be all for her inclusion.

And just in the event you are interested in the Clone Wars here is a link that has the episode order and includes the last bits that they couldn't make due to being canceled, including 8 episodes that are still in their rough animatic form that has full music, voice actors, and sound effects.

We also know that just because someone's death is depicted, i.e. being cut in two and tossed down a seemingly endless pit, that doesn't mean that character can be Soap Operatically revived for future merchandising opportunities. Did I sound cynical? I was trying hard to.

That book sounds like it might interest me. What's it called?

Maybe they shouldn't have burned Qui-gon and Vader then... they were probably still alive.

Well both have come back as Force ghosts. Maybe Anakin Force ghost can try to reach out to Ben Solo in Episode VIII, unless

Spoiler:

Rey turns out to be reincarnated Anakin.

The book is called Dark Disciple and features Ventress and Quinlan Voss teaming up to take down a certain Separatist target.

That or Yoda and Obi-wan kept making fun of his hate of sand and how it is coarse and gets everywhere and how he thinks that spinning is a neat trick so he just decided to let everyone else deal with the problem he could have taken care of.

Admiral Daala?

I could see Daala, but since she hasn't been introduced in the new canon (I think), I'm not sure how likely it is.

If Legends canon starts happening though, then I think Lumiya might be fun.

I mentioned Aurra Sing is perfect from the OP options because we dont know much (to my knowledge in the current canon) of her and fits perfectly in the IA timeline (I dont want to spoil the gaming experience of anyone here... ;) and shes got room for interesting gaming options.

I agree Aurra Sing would be the prefect choice. Here SWM mini was great, so I would love to see an FFG mini of her.

I'd be up for Aurra Sing, and really any of the Clone Wars bounty hunters aka Cad Bane, Embo, etc...

For other female villains a female officer sculpt would be nice but I kind of doubt we will get one, though maybe we can get an original female villain for a wave? But if we are allowed to hope and dream for characters then I'm hoping Mara Jade returns to canon and finds her way to this game

There are already Imperial female officers in current canon that can be used in the game (Admiral Rae Sloane for example).

But thier more in control of the imperial navy from what I can tell.

And youre correct but as more canon novels and comics come out its a sure thing that more characters will show up that fit close to IA.

There's female Stormtroopers as well, for all you know your entire squad might be female under that armor.

Still there is room for female villains. If we look at the book Aftermath there is both Rae Sloane and Jylia Shale both ideal high ranking imperial villains to use. Of course I am sure there are some female bounty hunters think maybe KOTOR Twiliek ones that could make an appearance.

There is not a *single* identifiable female or non-white imperial in any of the three OT films.

Meanwhile, women and non-whites, not to mention a variety of non-humans, *do* feature in the Rebel Alliance's command structure (Mon Mothma, Leia) and fighting forces (Toryn Farr in the Hoth Echo Base control room, plus a handful of other females...

...and General Calrissian, plus a couple of black and Asian pilots in the Endor space battle; and a female commando in RotJ, at least in promotional material... - http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Dansra_Beezer)

Surely this was not a coincidence? The Empire's visible exclusion of any but white male humans was surely intended to lead viewers to relate it to the misogyny and racism that was at the very heart of Nazi Germany?

The EU's efforts to insert females and ethnic minorities into the Empire has therefore surely been misguided, not least in that it makes the Empire less irrational and unpalatable.

So, no female Imperial villains for me, thanks.

Great! Now is our chance for a space themed campaign. I think that would work best for a mini campaign as they have no side missions and could therefore conceivably take place over the stretch of an hour or two as the heroes must repel Imperials and enter their Star Destroyer to disable the tractor beams, free prisoners, capture comm room, etc.

If you play Battlefront, you will find that female Stormtroopers do have modified armor for wider hips. Just not the ridiculous bare midriff and bra that Fem troopers have.
