It seems like the ships that people would want in it are ships I don't have, and it also seems like not many people want it anyway. But don't some of you?

Edited by gryffindorhouseFlying Guri and Cobra last evening for about the 10th time to get them to work I agree that they need something a bit more.
The K-Fighter is in the same spot as the T-65 X-WIng to expensive and the actions available are lacking.
The Star Viper needs maybe another shield. Or to start with a System Slot.
I think the wild karde ship is a waste of plastic (ugly)
M3a and khirax were DOA. they are so similar to each other, it feels like they've done it on purpose or they keep making the same mistakes over and over again. The starvipers are 5 pts over costed not 2. Guri is playable, but the generics are not. Having half your ships in a faction be garbage is why so many large ships get played.he fact that they are taking so long to fix them indicates that they really screwed them up and are having to rewrite the book to fix them. Multiple titles are needed for each to do it justice. Multiple mods, multiple new pilots.

I've never read so much claptrap in a single post since I blocked JBR7.
I think packaging the starvipers with an epic ship makes sense. People aren't likely to need multiples of either ship. Give it a couple fixes in there too like they did with the TIE Adv.
Maybe:
1) Trade torpedo for illicit at -2 points.
2) A Starviper only illicit that gives evade token after barrel roll.
3) A new pilot or two, and a PS 4 generic with EPT.
Save Khiraxz and Scyks for the "aces" pack and give them mods and titles to fix their issues.
When looking at the Scyk it feels about 1 point over costed for the base hull. In a world where it was released at 12 points, I think it would have been ideal with a 3 point title that was almost identical to the current one, but also added 1 hull.
With that in mind, I would want to see three things for the Scyk in an 'Aces' pack.
1) A PS 1 Generic. This brings the base cost down by a point. Subtle, but helpful.
2) A Scyk-only mod that allows you to equip any mod at -2 points cost. This allows a 1-point Hull Upgrade or Stealth Device, letting the **** thing last more than a single round of fire.
3) A 2 point, Scyk-only modification (Able to be equipped for free to one with the previous mod installed) that encouraged swarm flying. Perhaps something like "Linked Targeting Array - After you spend a target lock, each other friendly ship with this upgrade may acquire a target lock on that ship."
The ideal here is that both the 'Light' (No title) and 'Heavy' Scyk should be viable in different roles, depending on what you need for your squad.
The Kihraxz needs something in a desperate way
A title that trades out the Missile slot for an extra shield
The Boost action added to its bar
In actually reading the info on wookiepedia for the fighter it is another ship that FFG did poorly in the attempt to make ships. It is fast light and lightly armored, yet it has 4 hull and 1 shield, Maybe go 2 hull and 3 shields? Would be more thematic.
For the ships, the M3-A and Kihraxz.
What I'd really like to see is an upgrade to allow for, say a scum YT, without giving them access to them per se. Something like:
•War Spoils - 0 points
Title - Cannot be taken by unique pilots. Cannot be taken by huge ships.
This ship can be fielded in a Scum squad, cannot take rebel or imperial upgrades and astromech droid slots become salvaged astromech.
Reduce hull points by 1.
Edited by ElGentlemanI'd be really surprised if a future Starviper fix featured Talonbane Cobra instead of Tyber Zann.
For a fix, I'd like to see a defensive mod occupying that torpedo slot. Something like "when defending, if out of attacker's arc, [insert something awesome here]." for 0. This could help generics out, along with a point-reduction title which seems like the logical step.
Kihraxz should have the Vak'sai title turning it completely away from the Fang Fighter. Perhaps focusing on illicit usage?
Title "Light Scyk Fighter" : All hard turns are green. 0 points.

That's a fair point... of the 3 ships being discussed, StarV would be the best choice IF one was to be packed with an Epic.
That would leave the Kf and Scyk...
...which (as the idea just struck me) could be a "Return to Tansarii Station" themed box - Black Sun Kf and TPV Scyk... fixes for both and set of Campaign missions.
At this point, my thinking on the StarViper is that what it really needs is more firepower rather than durability, and that the firepower probably wants to come as a reroll - possibly a straight "You may reroll a single attack die against a target in arc", or the like.
Hear me out: Guri gets free Focus tokens, which are great for amplifying a rerolled attack or helping tank incoming fire (which only matters if you're a threat big enough to
warrant
incoming fire), while Xizor's entire ability in 'nyah ha ha, you can't shoot me'... to which the answer does not want to be 'So? I'll just kill your buddies first'. The way to emphasise that is to up firepower - and in doing so, you're reducing the pressure on the EPT and/or Systems Slot to be reroll sources, so the ships can start flying things other than FCS or Predator in one slot or the other. This might
seem
a pity, but I'm all for modifications that free a ship from two of the most popular upgrades (in the respective slots) in the game.
There are other methods of improvement, of course - the main point here is "More offense, please; make people care that this expensive ship is on the board".

I disagree. I would ABSOLUTELY rather have more defense. Wvery songle time my guri dies its because she blanks out her green dice. Doesnt matter if I have a stack of focus tokens if I do t roll any eyeballs or evades. And offense has never been my issue on the starviper.

Yes, definitely.

Make it a Mod. So we can have a "Heavy" "Light" Heavy laser cannon Syck.

Yeah offense is fine. 3 attack dice and can pack FCS, predator, or lone wolf. The Fang fighter largely replaced the starviper and the starviper needs to differentiate itself. Offering situational evade tokens would offer some action economy and defense to the Starvipers as well as make Juke another possible EPT for them.
A big reason the Scyk isn't a strong swarm ship is that FFG characterizes S&V as an uncooperative bunch, so to expect improvements along those lines goes against the faction's unique flavor. I also agree that the Fang has jumped into roles that Ks and SVs didn't fill well because of cost, so just fixing cost is not enough. It would be very cool to see Ks and SVs painted in Black Sun colors.

So we get another high-value Defender-alike?
Aggression is good because it helps you kill things faster. Yes, I get the lack of the Evade action hurts, but I strongly feel that you want these things to be swift and deadly; Guri might still be fragile (if hitting like a truck) but Xizor becomes more tasty, for example.
Dice are meant to blank out. It's just that Imp Aces have us spoiled.

On a lower cost ship. It doesnt bother me as much when dice blank out. When your ship STARTS at 30 ore more points before even equipping upgrades (and the title to give you more slots ALSO costs you another point), it starts to bother me when I roll 3 blanks two times in a row and explode with no way to stop it. Its not like guri cam arcdodge effectively at ps5 to just avoid getting shot. Id rather see the jousters get more defense and arcdodgers have less defense and have to rely on not getting shot as much as possible. Too bad its a but late to take back soontir...

At this point, the traits that make a good arcdodger have generally ended up coming with extensive defensive capabilities as well.
Might as well simply let jousters be able to blow the crap out of things, and then you can price them accordingly without fear of the ship being accidentally invincible in the process. I'm OK with a Guri who gets obscenely unlucky (And I will note, that is obscenely unlucky) and dies all too quick - at PS5, with a positionally limited ability, it's inevitable that she's a risk/reward proposition as is.
But I'd feel a whole lot better if the payoff was worthwhile, even if it did make her a fire magnet - we learn to fly her defensively, or just take Xizor instead. Defensive buffs slow the game down, especially when you end up in endgame duels, and the StarViper is all but dedicated to that very concept. Would be nice to see a ship that solves the problem by being built to murder everything once it gets there, for a change.
I'd be a huge fan of another 'most wanted' style expansion with fixes for the afore-mentioned ships. If there is anything else in there like options for a scum YT or something that would be gravy!
I'd like to see a simple M3A fix:
Modification
M3A scyk only
Increase your hull value by 1. You must equip the heavy scyk title. You may equip another modification.
0 points
The extra mod is like the allowance from the smugglung compartment, so not unprecedented and a free extra hull fixes alot of issues IMO. Probably a way to make it less wordy, but I don't feel like thinking too hard lol.
I think the K fighter is the least in need between it, the viper, and the scyk. I would like to see something for the viper.

"Light" Scyk (1pt, Title, Scyk only): Turn your hard turns green.
Patched hull (0pt, Title, Scyk only): When recieving a facedown damage card, you may discard this card to discard a facedown damage card. Include the Extra Munitions rule if there's space, for extra hilarity.
You now have:
a 14pt beefy TIE
a 15pt A-wing with less zoom and no boost or AT, but more turn
A 17pt 4 hp heavy Scyk.
Two cards, but three base builds... one of which starts to resemble a viable 3 ship build.
That would certainly fit with the idea that groups fielding Scyks would mix up the configurations so that different fighters within the same squadron could support each other with non-uniform loadouts.
