Edited by gabe69velasquezI wanted more "Saving Private Ryan"... but yeah it is going to be a real movie... looks like Gurl Han actually is dying as she walks towards that TIE... I might love this dam-movie.

I didn't realize how huge K-2SO was going to be. He's like 10 feet tall.
Also, has anybody mentioned the shuttle that isn't Krennic's abomination?
![]()
We saw that scene in the previous trailer, but now there's confirmation that it really is a shuttle that has front and back wings for some reason, not just two shuttles parked end to end.

That city looks like a mash up of Mos Eisley and Jabba's palace.
A re-envisioning of Bestine?
It is Jedha, a new planet.
Edited by SithborgIt is Jedha, a new planet.
So in this galaxy far far way three out of ten
planets (so to speak) are desert planets? sheesh.
Now I'll have to go look at a map to see the distribution...
Edited by gabe69velasquezJedha was a small desert moon in the galaxy, which had a cold climate due to its lasting winter, and an atmosphere that was breathable to its human population. The historical and spiritual significance of Jedha led the moon to become a world of worship for those who believed in the Force, and a holy site for pilgrims who sought spiritual guidance. Some time before the Battle of Yavin, the Galactic Empire occupied the moon to control its resources that were once used by the Jedi Order to build lightsabers. The occupation later provoked an insurgency to oppose the Imperial tyranny, coordinated by the Rebel extremist Saw Gerrera.
The desert moon of Jedha was a small moon, frosted by a permanent winter that caused a cold climate.[2] Its native inhabitants included humans[3] and the moon's atmosphere was breathable to the species.[1] Jedha had natural resources that were utilizable for constructing lightsabers, the weapons synonymous with the Jedi.[4]
The Imperial occupation of Jedha
The ancient world of Jedha was home to one of the first civilizations to explore the nature of the Force,[2] and was considered a spiritual home of the Jedi.[5] As a result, the moon became a holy land for those who followed the Force and a place that one would go on a pilgrimage.[2][3]
Subsequent to the fall of the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic, its successor state–the Galactic Empire–occupied Jedha[2] for possession of the resources that once served the Jedi Order as lightsaber component material.[4] Under the rule of the Empire, the timeworn streets of Jedha were patrolled by stormtroopers and Imperial Assault Hovertanks.[1][6] The Imperial oppression later led to the formation of a resistance, coordinated by the Rebel warrior Saw Gerrera who preferred brutal tactics.[7]
Inhabitants
The moon of Jedha was inhabited by humans, and it was the homeworld of the Rebel pilot Bodhi Rook, the warrior monk Chirrut Îmwe and his freelance assassin friend Baze Malbus.[8][3]
See, I was wrong, I assumed it was on treads, but the description says hover tank.
Where is dudes... head?!
So the U-wing is said to have a "door gunner."
What's the likelihood that it's this guy and we are seeing the inside of the U-wing?
BET YOU HADN'T MADE THE CONNECTION!
Edited by gabe69velasquezPretty good, considering we see much more of the interior of the U-wing in the trailer.

So this is the Beach Troopers people have been joking about?

Okay it's so obvious, but how many people really made the connection?
I'm just realizing they're giving us the interior of the U-wing here.
And that's a lot more than just the shots of the soldiers jumping out of the side.
We have plenty of the exterior but I just hadn't caught on to how much of the interior they've really shown...
But now I get it, there's just one U-wing in the whole movie and they are using it to transport everywhere.

God-**** that armor is sexy.
It concerns me a bit how much this new X-wing pilot looks like Gary Oldman.

Yes, that is Donnie Yen. No, he is not a Jedi, just someone who follows a Jedi related religion.

I would imagine that his being a badass is independent of his religion. I mean, it sounds like something very similar to the Church of the Force that Lor San Tekka and those Jakku villagers belonged to, and none of them were able to destroy a squad of Stormtroopers with a stick. I would presume that Donnie Yen's character has some degree of Force sensitivity to be able to fight blind like that, just not on the same level as an actual Jedi.
