I have a quick question for you skirmish players. What do you use to transport your figures to and from tournaments and between games? I am having a very hard time trying to find something soft enough that wont damage the paint jobs when i do them but is small enough to actually be useful. Everything i seem to find is way to large for transporting the hand full of figures needed for the game.
Question about moving your stuff
Generally speaking, I've had no troubles at all with chipping or damage once I've sprayed this on my painted minis: https://www.amazon.com/Testors-Aerosol-Enamel-3oz-Dullcote-Lacquer/dp/B009FF6DN4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1471032545&sr=8-1&keywords=testors+dullcote
I carry mine around in a Plano box like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007N5ZULO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It's small and easy to carry, and I've never once had any damage to my painted figures from it. It's great for carrying and organizing all of my dice, tokens, figures, etc...and it's also valuable to have your tokens readily accessible when you need them during the match. I just have to carry that and then whatever I use for maps (whether printed maps or tiles), and I have nothing to worry about.
The Vader's Finest guys discussed this in a recent episode and had some suggestions:
I've got a go7gaming IMPERIAL 001 insert in my IA box. Fits pretty much everything except map tokens and some of my yet-to-be-painted Bespin minis. Map tokens go in a second box. Between games I just use one of the box lids for the squad and components in use.
