Dras, can you use targeting scrambler to force a reroll accuracies, or have they already been "spent" by the time the scrambler triggers?

If the Accuracies have been spent they are no long in the attack pool. They have been spent.

The card in question:


"While a friendly ship at distance 1-3 is defending at close range, during the Spend Defense Tokens step, you may exhaust this card to force the attacker to reroll up to 4 dice of your choice.'

Notice it is during the Spend Defense Tokens step.

In your handy-dandy rules reference guide, you shall see that Spend Defense Tokens is Step 4 of the Attack Flowchart.

Whereas spending Accuracy Dice occures in Step 3, Modify attack dice.

"Spend" when it comes to dice, means removing those dice from the attack pool.

By the time you get to Step 4, those Dice have been spent, and thusly, no longer exist to hit with targeting scramblers...

So what is the use then?

Well, apart from overall damage mitigation, you can see that Critical Effects are not declared until the start of Step 5, Damage....

So remove any and all crit icons from the enemy rolll, and there can be no critical effects!
