Stripperdictor?

By BrobaFett, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

So I was playing around with fleets for wave 4 and know that I can't be the only one who noticed the interplay between NK-7, the "Interdictor" title, and Screed. Is this going to be as good as it looks on paper?

Because ostensibly, the Interdictor can shoot a ship, see if there is a blue crit, if not screed for one, NK-7 a def token, Interdictor to un-exhaust the NK-7, attack again, and if there is another blue crit strip another def token.

One round of fighting to absolutely cripple a ships defense capabilities. Out of two rolls there is a pretty good liklihood of hitting at least one crit on at least one of the rolls.

I mean stripping the brace and a re-direct off an ISD in round 2 could turn an entire game around.

I know we have talked about the interdoctor before, but is this the dawn of the "Stripperdictor?"

Screed says once per activation.

EDIT:

I see that you realize this... I feel like the Interdictor can get so expensive. Does anyone feel like this is viable?

He is aware of that. Hence is "at least one crit on one of the rolls..."... With Screed to guarantee it on the one that doesn't, basically...

I mean, to be honest... The Interdictor can do it, there's a lot of blue dice there...

...

But there's a lot of blue dice on Raider-IIs with Screed-Crits, too... But unfortunately, we don't see a lot of StripperRaiders... And I partly wonder if its just the chassis that holds them back, and if that's the case, wether the brick outhouse of an Interdictor lets it go...

Vader on blue dice. You're spending a token you probably didn't need anyway. And he goes well with ISD-IIs and Raider-IIs as well.

Interdictor title requires a ship to activate to trigger (any ship, but a ship nonetheless). You're in the middle of an activation between attacks, so it won't work twice in the same round in the way you mention.

Ah there's the catch I didn't see. It still only works once per activation then. My whole thought process revolved around the ability to strip 2 tokens per turn. Without that, NK-7 remains overpriced in my book, even with a guaranteed removal.

For a second there, I thought I had seen a way that FFG was attempting to make a completely ignored upgrade relevant through synergy with future updates.

Guess NK-7 goes right back to collecting dust.

You can still do it with Intel and NK-7, dropping 2 tokens, as long as you can make 'em spend the one you nominate.... Then NK7 the other...

from what i under stand to use the interdictor title you have to activate the ship which you can do the title. so if you exhuast the nk 7 the ship has already activated I don't think you can then exhuast the title card to unexhuast the ion cannon.

You don't have to activate the interdictor.

As long as any ship activates. Friendly or Enemy.

Regardless, the Ion Cannon only untaps at that point, which means, really, its not that useful ,as the Ion cannon is an offensive measure that can only be used on your activation, and the Interdictor will have already gone...

Really, the Interdictor is for readying reactive measures, such as, but not limited to:

G-8 Experiemental

Targeting Scramblers

Maybe to untap Wulff when you get hit by a Tractor beam and are forced to spend a Navigate. . .

Good pick up Vergilus on the NK7 thing I was getting a bit too interested in that idea... Poor NK7s.

Interdictor is usually only for Targeting scramblers and G8s. I hadn't thought about Wulff for use mitigating tractors but it is a little insurance. It can also mitigate an MS-1 Ion cannon attack on your NK7s if you haven't activated yet.
