The morr spell : Morr's touch

By bjornandersen, in WFRP Rules Questions

Spellcard says "while this card is recharging, your hand is surrounded by a nimbus od deadly power. Treat as handweapon. Whenever you land a blow with your hand remove a recharge token from this card"

And card has 5 recharge tokens,

Does this mean i can cast this spell and then spend hours (days?) until i have lost it ? Or does it lose recharge every round in addition to each use ?

It discharges like every other recharge effect every round as normal.

Take off a token after every turn and one on a successful hit.

Round 1: 5 tokens added when cast -1 at end of that turn. 4 left.

Round 2: Attacks and hits -1 token. -1 token at end of turn. 2 left.

Round 3: Hits again -1 token and -1 at end of turn. 0 left and spell ends.

So best case scenario is you get 2 hits with it. I guess you can miss once and still get two hits off, but two misses will mean you could only get one hit with it.

Hi folks,

Does this spell allow you to parry with your hand? I was thinking yes, losing a charge to do so. My Gm has ruled no, but wanted to get some outsider opinions.

Thanks!

I would totally agree with your GM. The spell doesn't make your hand strong as metal. Good way to get it cut off.

Hi Khaali, thanks for the input.

With that rationale, if I miss an attack against someone who has used parry with a sword equipped, or attacked someone wearing spiked plate, I would also lose my hand, or at least break several bones then?

Good point. This spell isn't suited for a fight against an armed oponent.

I would certainly use it against zombis, or to make a surprise killing strike from behind.

Perhaps ask FFG regarding this to get an official answer.

I would house rule it lasts the encounter or until all discharges are used. I couldn't justify a player laying in bed with his hand glowing while he sleeps.

Like every other ability it slowly discharges each round as Mindhead pointed out.

It does count as a hand weapon- so I don't see why it wouldn't be able to parry attacks like any other hand weapon. It's pure divine power channeled into your hand- why wouldn't it be able to deflect mortal weapons?
