Soontir, who has stress, must clear stress. Either he moves forward 2 because then he still has a shot, rockets away at 5 to try and leave, or does a 2hard to attempt to pursue.
Not that hard to predict him. The difficulty is hitting him because of his defense. Long as you dont try to get greedy/stupid and attempt to range1 him, he usually DOES NOT get out of arc because range2/3 arcs are huge.
Soontir will never go a turn where he doesnt ptl, because the moment he does that singular attack that still has arc on him somewhere can easily sneak damage though. So he will never kturn, he will never do whites, and he will always do greens.
im not saying its so easy to counter him hes pathetic. Not at all. Im saying against a player that actually knows how to call the shots, which is a surprising few ive noticed, he isnt that scary. I actually LIKE facing him because i can predict him like the puppet he is and consistently get arc on him. A naked OL ticks me off more than a decked out soontir.
tie/sf? where are they?

Yeah because he's in no danger with unmodified green dice...
Away.
On a special ops mission, of course.

If a 5 straight or 3 bank gets him into clear space where no one has arc on him then Fel is throwing 0 naked green dice.

Oh of course because u boats don't have turrets...hey wait a minute.
And of course those 5 dice Soontir throws down are naked... o wait autothrusters... Palpatine... maybe not so naked.

And 2 attack turret has never really scared Fel, no matter how accurate. 4 nekkid green dice with AT and possibly Palpy will more than likely stop a couple of booms or kabooms.
Well the wave hasn't fully released yet so I still am waiting for my store to get one. I really like Backdraft and Quickdraw so want to try them out soon.
Wonder if I want to try anything crazy with that Missile Slot... Most likely gotta make things go boom.
TIE/sf strikes again!
Do you see that spot just beyond the Z-95 smack dab in Backdraft's auxiliary firing arc? That's where Palob used to be. I forgot to take the picture earlier, but I had Backdraft barrel roll to range 1 and assault that poor HWK pilot. We eventually destroyed Kath and Kaato, losing Crackshot Omega Sq. Pilot along the way, but Backdraft did his job well.
Next match, we faced standard Super Dash with Biggs and an Adaptability Green Sq. A-wing. Omega Leader made Biggs use the focus, Backdraft took shields and Omega Ace spent his target lock and focus to deal two crits - both Direct Hits. Crackshot Omega did 1 damage to Dash, and then this happened.
Crack Omega successfully S-looped. Everybody else moved up, and Backdraft's straight 1 was slow enough to block Dash's 3 bank escape route. We brought Dash down to 1 hull left with all of our shots, and the A-wing didn't do any damage. With the store closing, all my ships at full health, and the threat of Backdraft's rear arc, he decided to call it at this point. 15 minute victory.
So victory for the First Order, and their hero Backdraft! (This really should go in the Battle Reports section, but more people look here. Besides - ficklegreendice isn't posting over there.)
Edited by ParakitorI have to say something that has been bothering me about the TIE/sf. In my new obsession with this ship I headed over to starwars.com data bank, and looked it up. To my surprise, there was a picture of one at the battle of Takodana. So I watched the movie again, and sure enough there was a good mix of TIE/fo and TIE/sf fighters in that scene. However, there was one major problem: NONE OF THE TIE/SF's SHOT FROM THEIR REAR ARCS!!! This was extremely off-putting for a fan of the First Order, and it's no wonder to me that the Resistance suffered no recorded casualties in that battle. When Poe was chasing those fighters, at least two of them were Special Forces, and should have shot him right in his T-70's canopy. Disappointing.
OK, rant over. I guess I just have to avenge those idiots by continuing to bring victory and glory to the First Order.
well, 2-dice primaries really don't do much regardless of their target, so it's really no big deal
only "backdraft" would've mattered in that scenario

Sounds like missed opportunities.

I had this thought, but last night a Blue Squadron B-wing blasted Omega Leader at range 2 with 3 hits, and Omega Leader blanked out on defense, and had already spent the evade. 1 hull left. Stranger things have happened. Oh, except I suppose Poe has plot armor, so there's that.

Actually, at least one did.
This guy right here, just as he flies off screen you can see he's shooting at the X-Wing chasing him.
I think maybe one of the 30 Poe shoots down also shoots at him out of its rear arc, but I'd have to watch again to double check.
Wow! I stand corrected. I watched it 3 or 4 times and missed that rear shot every time. It still completely missed the X-wing. I guess we know that pilot was NOT Backdraft.
that, and when poe/finn were flying it, where was finn shooting....?
quite often, behind them

Obviously, otherwise there wouldn't be an aux arc on this ship in the first place. But I never noticed the First Order pilots using that really handy attribute of the ship. That was the point I was making. But they do use it, and that's awesome!
Its cause the sf pilots were trying to get special ops training 3 dice out the front
Which i'm positive represents the standard tie guns combining fire with forward facing swivel turret
As opposed to ARCs which just has bigass front guns or small ass-guns
Edited by ficklegreendiceAfter having played these a handful of times, I've actually found myself surprised at how effective they were.

Your turn of phrase is always a joy, fickle.
And yeah, that seems pretty cut and dried the 'explanation' for it - albeit it does leave one wondering why the ARC never manages the same.
Does outmaneuver work out of an aux arc?
Edited by buckero0Does outmaneuver work out of an aux arc?
Yes it does. This was FAQ'd with the firespray.
Everything related to "in arc" works on an aux arc
Sadly that also includes fang fighter stuff. One of the few ships they can tail and get their benefits.

seriously, **** those guys
quit slapping off my focus, Ol Terry!
