Awing=Phoenix (gains Escort, now 13 points)
Man, I hope not. Love me some A-wings, but I love them because they're cheap, quick, and flexible. What I don't want is to pay 2 more for escort on a ship with 4 hull.
It works for Black Squadron because the squadron is so cheap already and you're only paying 1 for the escort. It's a throwaway to shut down 1 attack to buy you time to get the advanced into position, while still saving a few points on Dengar escorts.
A 13-point A-wing would fill the same role, but cost over 50% more. I like counter 2, but it's not worth that much.
They actually undercosted Black by a point. It should be 10 given the stats. So maybe Phoenix squad would just be 12. At 12, I would take it over a generic X. Especially if Jan is in the vicinity.
At 13 I would probably still run it for the speed and because I think counter 2 is more valuable than the 5th HP.
