Rebels and the A-wing trainer..

By That Blasted Samophlange, in X-Wing

Rotating laser cannons sound great to add, but introducing this mechanic in the rebels show and after the rebel aces have done their work doesn't put this idea to happening in the near future. Plus, while I like the A wing, I've always enjoyed it more in Rotj and more OT Time periods. The trainer a wing sounds fun, but also not likely to happen soon.

The biggest problem with introducing this into the game is they'd have to re-print all the current pilots with an aux arc.

And so as we discussed on here and on at least 2 other threads in the past, it would be much easier for them to releae a specific pilot.

What'd be nice is if the the Episode 8 A-wing (RZ-2?) has rotating laser cannons. That way we don't have to worry about it for every existing A-wing pilot, plus it would be a good way to distinguish the new one from the old.

Again I don't see FFG revamping the A-wing as it is, but if they introduce the new model from episode 8 like the T-70 in comparison to the original x wing, (a similar ship yet different in it's own respects) we could possibly see this happening. That is, if the powers that be even decide to have rotating cannons on A-wings.

Imagine an A-Wing with the same attack dice as it has now, but SLAM instead of Boost (maybe a slightly worse dial) and a title that lets it attack after SLAMming.

Kids today, no imagination.

Nope. Just put an extra piece of carboard that has the printed rear arc on the base so it fits over the ship token, similar to the mobile arc on the Lancer class indicator arrow. Instead of cardboard it can be a transparent overlay.

Kids today, no imagination.

Just measure backward from the existing printed arc.

Except that you and I both know FFG wouldnt do that...they more than likely just do as i said and make one pilot for it as his special ability. Or just a new fighter, like others said the A-wing from TFA (so Mark 3 or 4 or whatever #).

Just measure backward from the existing printed arc.

And that is just clunky in game.
