ROGUE ONE TRAILER TOMORROW!
I thought the U-Wing was lame, but after I saw the trailer I think it's pretty cool looking.
I still think it looks kit bashed between an X and Y -Wing, but it is better than I first expected.
No, they simply don't play this. Because they find it boring.
Unfortunately!
So, if the developer of a game knows, that most of the customers will be Male... it MIGHT BE an intelligent move, to give the male people what they want...? Just maybe...?
Or should they make all the ships pink from now on? And there are no cluster missiles anymore but all ships come with lipsticks from now on. How about that?
You sir are an idiot. Girls do play this and enjoy this. Including my 9 year old daughter! and a buddies wife.
Take your closet sexism elsewhere. It is not welcome here.
Says the one calling all women girl's, fix your own definitions first before telling others to get out.
Don't know why I am wasting my time responding to you. You've been on my block list forever since you are a toxic individual but I said girls because my daughter is a girl. She is 9.
A good friend of mine has been teaching his 5 y/o daughter to play X-Wing. Your daughter is in good company.
Frankly, girls and women face an uphill battle getting into STEM* fields - and it's all down to people's ugly attitudes. A few of us kicked up a stink in our wargaming WhatsApp over sexist talk and images, and now it's way better. Does it matter that there is only one woman on it? Not standing for s**t is a good thing.
*what does this have to do with X-Wing I hear people cry. Numbers, stats, models. Which is partly why my friend is teaching wargaming principles to his daughter. His wife is also a prominent lecturer in game design.
That's nonsense places fall over themselves to recruit women, to the point they heavily discriminate in favour of women.
Next well be hearing nonsense about the pay gap.
I thought the U-Wing was lame, but after I saw the trailer I think it's pretty cool looking.
We still haven't seen the swing-wing design in action in a trailer or TV spot; I wonder if it will look cool or not.
I always liked how the Rebels had distinct star fighters, while the imperial were rather uniform. I saw the U-Wing as breaking this trend.
But ... It is starting to look ok.
Also, I want space battles again. I know it is a ground operation film, but TFA all the battles were planet side.
Edited by JadotchOh, and something I really enjoyed about the trailer was the scale of everything .. How huge that Star Destroyer actually looked.

You have literally found a picture of one female soldier... along with two male soldiers. Bravo.
And how on earth should this challenge the "armies filled with men and more men" point? Do you want to show, that female soldiers exist? Oh wow
guess what? I know. But that doesn't mean armies are filled with females anywhere in the world.
Somehow the ignore feature is not working and I keep getting your dumbass posts in my feed. The point why anecdotally it seems more female 40k players prefer tyranids is because that army is gender neutral. Every other army is either entirely all males, or are filled with fanboy perv models like dark eldar or sisters of battle.
I could spend all day finding images of women in the US Army, Soviet army, Isreal Defense Forces, and other military forces. The actual make up of modern military forces is (while no means equal in numbers) NO WAY near the GW male dominated nerd imagining of what the military looks like.
Now go away you fool. This thread was supposed to be about how freaking awesome the Rogue One Trailer is, and now its regressed to nerd-rage gamer gate regressive BS.
Or possibly they just don't like the aesthetic of the other factions? Dark Eldar are basically hedonism the faction and I don't see how SoB are pervy. Regardless of what this thread was meant ot this is what it is now. People like you responding to someone who is trolling and triggering me because you mentioned gamer gate.
Also, I want space battles again. I know it is a ground operation film, but TFA all the battles were planet side.
This. I so badly want to see dogfighting in space again.

The Death Star eclipse is absolutely haunting.

I don't think we'll see much in the area of space battles until Episode VIII. Maybe a little. The Rebels are way to small for a direct engagement at this point.
I'm hoping that in episode VIII the Republic fleet isn't completely destroyed, and that the Republic is fighting alongside the Resistance against the First Order.

Yeah the fleet could of been out doing work patrolling boarders... we need a badass space battle soon...

"Turning even an epic trailer into a terrible off topic debate since 2016"
Well... this topic is chock-full of suck.
OMG....I jump to the end of the thread to see what everyone thinks of the trailer and I find this mess? Jeez....
Who cares about that crap! I see an awesome Star Wars movie that is about to come out and don't give a drop of jawa juice the gender of the main star. What I see is a bunch of people wanting to project their own issues onto a Star Wars film.
Pretty much the same thing happened here. Awesome trailer, shame about the morons.
Amazing.
I watch the new trailer, and come here expecting to find conversation about it... and instead I see pages and pages of people whining about 'ew, girls in my man movies'.
This may shock certain people, but there are plenty of women out there who want to see strong female characters in movies OTHER than romances and comedies.
As for Ghostbusters reboot.... I've seen it twice now, and while I won't call it 'great', I can say that the female leads are NOT the primary cause of the problems with the film. The villain (a man) is terrible and most of the jokes fell flat for me, but the lead performances and characterizations were OK.

In A New Hope we learn that the highest Imperial officers consider Rebels a serious threat to their navy.
It doesn't have to be a grand space battle like Endor, but raiding convoys and space stations, ambushing smaller task forces, breaking blockades etc seems ro be well within their reach and would satisfy my space battle hunger.
that rainy canyon scene with the xwings flying through it does look pretty cool though....
Oh, and something I really enjoyed about the trailer was the scale of everything .. How huge that Star Destroyer actually looked.
and not a single shiny lightsaber toothpick!
Yes, no lightsabers anywhere was a nice change.
This looks like it will be a great Star Wars film, so we're all good then.
Seriously, I really don't get the GIRLS EWW thing. THere are precisely two female characters shown in all the trailers, and one of them is Mon Mothma, i.e. basically an NPC quest-giver.
The rest of the film looks to be a total sausage fest, except Jan Ors. Sorry, Jyn Erso. I'm not seeing how this is girls corrupting Star Wars? It has about the same gender balance as the OT - i.e. largely men.
You're seeing an agenda where there is none.

Being seriously short on fighters, material and maintenance personnel having an intermediary (U) between an old design (Y) and a new design (X) makes sense.
Anyone noticed? The WorldWar I style thingy we discussed when trailer 1 came out, is not just a transport, it actually is a tank with guns!
Edited by ManagarmrI didn't realize how huge K-2SO was going to be. He's like 10 feet tall.
Also, has anybody mentioned the shuttle that isn't Krennic's abomination?

We saw that scene in the previous trailer, but now there's confirmation that it really is a shuttle that has front and back wings for some reason, not just two shuttles parked end to end.

i really like that thing
i dont know the way the wings moved when it took off just looked cool, to me

The X,Y,A and B are completely different, and look completely different. I do not see the rebels being able to fund the research, so they would use more "off the shelf" fighters from various places around the galaxy. While the Imperials make sense because they have the infrastructure to have a more evolutionary type ship.
I see it more like a AC-130 Spectre Gunship.
I am curious how it will play out in X-Wing. Heck, is it even armed?

The imperial shuttle with 4 wings seems to be a cargo conveyance. I could be wrong if course, but it looks like it has a similar cargo "pod" to the AT-ACT.
