You're half right!
Fickle, just out of interest, what size magnets and ball bearings do you use for your K's and Arc's?

that is an excellent question
braylen (r3-a2 gunner) biggs miranda (TLT, homing, extras; long range scanners) is the easiest thing to do
Ewwwwwww! Beautiful ARC and hideous K-Wing?! That's like pairing up Natalie Portman and Hayden Christensen!
That's really harsh for Natalie, I thought the general consensus is that she is quite beautiful, but I guess it's a matter of taste.
Of course can't disagree about Hayden.

That's not a fair comparison - you need to post a picture of Portman in the same state of undress.
i always considered Portman to be genuinely beautiful so i was kinda baffled not many did.
...cant really explain what i mean by that.... shes not a 10/10 but quite frankly no girl is and every girl i come across (internet or in person) thats 8-9/10 is usually either complete psycho or personally i find kinda creepy not sexy lol

I agree, she's 11/10!
The only think that could get her up to pilot skill 12 would be adding a bit of that creepiness you mentioned...
Palpatine is fine as he is, still very strong, but just as "broken" as all the good combos. You need the right ships to enable him as he is just messing with the odds, but not fundamental changing the game.

Pre-nerf Phantom was very strong, but just as "broken" as all the fat turrets.
Hey fickle, what's braylen buying you that a stresshog isn't? He's pretty pricy, even with the extra arc in play.

he's about 50 times sexier looking
and if you've flown the stresshog and also flown Braylen, you're just never going back
for example, just imagine a stresshog instead of braylen in these scenarios
I'm not exaggerating when I say the front guns are mainly ornamental. After the first pass, literally never firing from the primary arc again is NOT an uncommon occurrence
oh, and actions
sometimes you get actions
(but if you go r3-a2 tactician, you can get two stress on the enemy and always get actions if you do a single green)
Edited by ficklegreendiceHow do you find Gunner vs Tactician? The three point discount is tempting, but I can't help but suspect the ARC isn't great at range management with a rear gun...
havn't tried tactician
with Norra's basically optimal build, there's room enough for both gunner and VTs on Braylen. Gunner helps a lot

Hum. I'd really like to fly just the one ARC for a bit before shelling out for a second - medium bases are pretty pricey here.
Any thoughts on the best configs there?
Tactician is 3 points less, but you're not double stressing 2/3 of the time. At range 1 or 3? Nostress4u.
Your chance of damage is much lower, too. Gunner often forces your opponent to choose between taking a damage, or allowing me to double stress and shoot again. At one point i played against a Triple Imp Aces list, i think it was Vader, Soontir, and Inquisitor, and i popped off a range 2 shot out the back at a focused only soontir(so the story there is that Norra had stripped his original focus, R3-A2 gave him another one), hit and crit(without spending the TL, i had rolled to drop double stress the round before and took a TL on soontir), and the poor bastard got 2 blanks, a focus, and an evade. He was forced to choose between letting soontir get triple stressed(He thought so, anyways; i wasn't actually going to stress him again, he already had 2 and stressing him would've given him a focus), and let me take another, TL'd shot at soontir; OR just take a crit and lose stealth device. He chose to take the crit, pulling the crit that disables your guns for a turn. Even if Palp had been in this list, the conundrum still remains; Burn mods and let me add more stress and shoot again, or take the damage that's there.
Biggs died next turn anyways, but Norra smoked Soontir that turn(come on, 3 fully modded dice versus 2 unmodded dice? Soontir was guaranteed another crit even if he rolled a perfect 2 evades), and Braylen set to doublestressing Vader that turn, even managed to pull a shield off on the second attack. My next maneuvers lined up Vader in their arcs perfectly the next turn, leaving him unable to modify against both of 'em. Norra stripped the last shield and put a crit on him, i think a direct hit, and Braylen's first shot landed the crit necessary to kill Vader. Now, Norra was hurting at this point, only had 3 hull left with a damaged engine crit on board, but the Inquisitor was evacing and trying to get a better attack angle, allowing Norra to regen 2 shields before shooting began again. Not that the inquisitor was able to dodge both of Braylen's two arcs, and the game was basically over after that.
Braylen is honestly more than double as effective than a stresshog. I'd go as far to say it's triple as effective.

I like gunner for two reasons. You can double stress at all ranges, also sometimes you play ships that dont care about stress, dengar and defenders for instance, and gunner really boosts your damage output there.
I fully agree with those guys, gunner is way better than tactitian and more flexible against several builds

The ARC is on a small base.
Though if you mean that it is in a blister pack the size of the K-wing, Mist Hunter, and Star Viper you are correct, so there is an increased cost.
I will say this, I've enjoyed the couple games I've played with my single ARC and cant wait to get at least 1 or 2 more (maybe a 4th for epic- not sure).
Edited by knaveleadHere's a thouhht exercise on the topic of gunner stressbot braylon. If you're shooting target you want double stressed, when do you decline to use the title to ensure you miss vs possiblly forcing damage through?
I rolled blank eyeball out the rear at a palpess tokenless soontir, i had a one hull countess ryad at r1 behind braylon too. My original thought "shoot and add a sress to soontir, gunner at countess." I rolled blank eyeball at soontir, connverted the eyeball and his green dice did what they tend to do. I was pretty ok to get a crit through on soontir, but what if that had been corrn or poes shields? Or a brobot? Where multiple turns of forced stress clearing can do more for the rest of my list? Definitely an interesting wrinkle to the ship.
It's hard to tell, sometimes you want to be sure your enemy's dead, sometimes you prefer to get the stress.
Were your other ships in good position to chase a double stressed Fell, or was it more important to kill the Countess? Was she tokenless, or at full defense?
Surely Braylen gives you options, how to use them is a different matter :-)

you never don't use the title because you'll always magically do 1 damage past greens regardless

I ran this last night for a bit. Nearly blew Dash away in one round, and when he tried to turn tail and run, Thane found him in his rear arc and sent him packing. Then they mulched a Lothal Rebel. Thane got a free R7-T1 action from Biggs dying, which got me into range 1 with focus and TL.
I love this ship.
forgot to mention
on the important topic of Braylen Stramm's ability,
if you roll a blank or focus, you have a Failin' Braylen
if you roll a hit or crit, you have a Successful Stramm
On the topic of ARC puns: I really wish Thane was top of the power curve strong so you could say he was in thane .

we're just waiting for that special ACTION crew/astro to put in thane to make him inthane
Didmt even notice but yesterday marked a whole month of ARCs
Boy how time flies
