Arcsarcsarcsarcsarcs.... ARCS!

Ive been looking at a few different ARC led builds, and wanted to see what the consensus is on them, using combos of the following ships:

Norra (29), VI (1), R2D2 (4), Rey (2), Title, Vectored Thrusters (2) : Total 38

Shara (28), PTL (3), BB-8 (2), Jyn(2), [using Chopper if Jyn is on the U wing],Title, Vectored Thrusters (2) : Total 37, or 35 with Chopper

Braylen (25), R3-A2 (2), Gunner (5), Title, Vectored Thrusters (2): Total 34

With support from:

Blue Squadron U-wing (23), Tactical Jammer (1), Jyn (2), Inspiring Recruit (1), Pivot Wing (0): Total 27

Ahsoka (17), VI (1), Title (1), Cap Tie (1), Rec Spec (3), BMST (1): Total 24

Or

Biggs (25), IA, R4-D6 (l): Total 26

Potential Combos

Norra, Shara, U-wing - good TL sharing, good focus sharing/storing for Norra, decent HP, decent stress mitigation.

Norra, Shara, Ahsoka - i dont think this is as good as the U-wing for focus sharing or stress mitigation, or as tanky as Biggs.

Norra, Shara, Biggs - Biggs tanks hits (as always), no mechanism to gain extra action economy tokens though.

Norra, Braylen, U-wing

Norra, Braylen, Ahsoka

Norra, Braylen, Biggs

These lists are similar in the pros/cons as the others, but have the ability with Braylen to stress or double stress 1 opponent with Gunner, (Baze Malbus could be a cheaper alt for 2 opponents at single stress). With the Uwing I could potentially remove Tac Jammer for FCS.

On the Stress Arc version with Ahsoka I added Inspiring Recruit instead of Rec Spec, Norra has Expertise instead of VI and Braylen has Luke instead of Gunner...still comes in at 99pts.

Any thoughts or comments?

So, how do you think Biggs and Arcs will perform after the latest Faqs?

I guess that defenders will be even less scary because Braylen can easily shut down x7 title, and Parattanni is becoming a little less dangerous now that 'Roo will reduce her impact.

I'm concerned about the rise of Dash, triple Ks, Mirandas and VCXs... what do you think? Any experience in this new meta?

/x7s are a joke against Norra/Braylen/Biggs. Parattani is less threatening now that Fenn has less ways to get tokens, he can more easily be killed turn 1 with little to no impact, because that shot will go into Biggs and nobody important.

Dash sucks for ARCs. Like, a lot. Triple Ks are annoying but they don't have enough bombs to really make a huge impact against so many HP. Miranda is just like every other regen v. regen match. VCXs will be difficult only because Tail Gunner has no impact and Braylen will almost never double stress one. But even still, ARCs are capable of huge damage output so it shouldn't be too horrible.

I’m hoping to be able to cook something good up with two arcs (using my Rebel one along with the original paint job). If I can get two ARCS, a good Jedi and have some points left over for a Torrent, I’ll be happy.

Here’s the ARC stuff.

ARC bases are:

(5)Odd Ball/(3)Squad Seven Veteran

(4)Wolffe/(3)Squad Seven Veteran

(3)Jag/(2)104th Battalion Pilot

 (3)Sinker/(2)104th Battalion Pilot

 So you can fly all four uniques at once.

Only one copy of each pilot card, including generics (6 total pilot cards).

Only one copy of the Seventh Fleet Gunner upgrade.

On cardboard, yes. With cards, no. So ideal for casual play, but won’t cut it for tournaments, generally.

Anakin w/

- Supernatural Reflexes

104th Battalion Pilot w/

- Darth Sidious

Wolffe

When points drop, I'm going to plug whatever is left with a couple more choice upgrades and a bid. If, by some insane happenstance, these 3 pilots are not legal with only these 2 upgrades, then Republic will flop as a faction.

I joined X-Wing right after the 1.0 ARC came out. It was my first expansion after the original core set.

Well, I'm not so sure this list not working spells doom for the faction. We already know Supernatural reflexes is going to cost an arm and a leg on Anakin. If he's being aided by Sidious for Force regen, he's going to have stress problems as well. Guesstimating point values make it seem that it might all fit, but I'm not sure if the pieces mesh well enough for the cost.

While I already have 2 Rebel Arcs I am probably going to pick up at least 2 Republic Arcs to be able to field multiple generics and get at least 2 Seventh Fleet Gunners.

Composure is useless on Garven. The only action he could fail is a barrel roll and that's red. The consequent stress prevents him from taking a focus action afterwards.

I meant flop more along the lines of how E-Wings and large base ships flopped immediately after the launch of 2.0; overpriced to the point of "Why bother?" If you're paying more for less things in Republic, then the faction is a dud. Thankfully it doesn't look like this is going to be the case.
