wave 9 and Heros of the Resistance are ear marked to be released on that day. But We'll see.
Really? Do you have a source for this?

Edited by KeokiThe Force Friday release last year was a large release through Target stores, I don't think it will be an epic ship. I am starting to think it will be another "core" box with Rogue 1 ships. What else could they package together that could sell at a big box store? Especially after Target is clearing out the old lot of FA Cores?
Is it bizarre to think FFG will release the 4 ships of Wave 9, reprinted 2 ships of Heroes of the Resistance, the unknown SKU ship(s), and 3 ships from Wave 10... All within 3 months?

As I said wishful thinking on some
I will say, Target is clearing out specific sections of their store. Admittedly, the board game price drops haven't been focused on the TFA core set, but they've also been purging Black Series figures (as has Wal-Mart), and we know for a fact that new Black Series figures are coming on Force Friday.
... So the disappearance of the TFA core set, which I think sold well otherwise, could mean they've got another core planned.
But that seems like a VERY odd choice to me, considering the time span between the first two core sets.
The missing SKU HAS to be, and do mean HAS to be something related to Rogue One, otherwise FFG would have previewed it at the very least at GenCon. They didnt, and the only reason why they wouldnt is if they legally can not reveal what it is, due to the Force Friday/Rogue Friday contracts.
And for those of you that think FFG wont try to capitalie on the money made by big stores like Target, by not making a 3rd core set, are just in denial about how marketing works in coprorations.
FFG could very well make a new core every movie if they think it has enough ships (at least 2ships- 1 for each of 2 major factions) , I hope they dont on movies like the young Han Solo and Fett ones, but, they might...though I pointed out reasons on an earlier post why they probably wont for movies like that.
With the Armada Campaign box, I would not be surprised if we see a Rogue One Campaign box with the Striker and U as the missing sku. We get a tie-in with the movie and two new ships.
I'd bet on seeing the U-Wing and TIE Striker previewed on or around September 30. I think there's virtually no chance that Disney/asmodee/FFG passes up on the opportunity to release Rogue One ships at the same time as the movie. My bet is that they are released as part of wave 10, which is nominally scheduled to hit shelves by Christmas.
If you go back to last year, that's essentially how things worked out for the T-70 and TIE/FO. They were revealed after force friday (though not on force friday itself if memory serves), as part of wave 8, and were released in time for Episode 7.
There's practically a zero percent chance that we do not get the Rogue One ships eventually, and the most sensible time for FFG to release them is alongside the movie.
It also should be pointed out that it seems that FFG will release wave 9 on time - they predicted late Q3 2016 when they announced the wave, and we already have the ships at Gencon. I don't think there will be a long gap between that release and general sales.
RIGHT ON BABAGA.... RIGHT ON BRAH!
WE REMEMBER...
Expect the same for ROGUE ONE from good ole FFG!
My guess at this point, is that it will just be an U-wing expansion. There is too much being mentioned about this craft at this point.

EXACTLY! People keep overlooking this, Disney may REQUIRE a Force Friday product for release in Big Box Stores. Well.... the only product FFG can get placed in the Big Box stores is a Core Set. If that requirement is in play, then a new Core Set is nearly a guarantee regardless of whether FFG thinks it's a good idea or not. And frankly, even if they think multiple core sets is not the optimum way to sell the game, you simply CANNOT ignore the free marketing bump that Force Friday provides. Time will tell.... and this bet will be settled in about 6 weeks. I would bet a whole paycheck though that FFG has SOME September 30 release in the works and it's still under wraps.

This would be EXACTLY what I want.
Which means it's less likely to happen, sorry guys.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I am a former Target employee. Them putting a product on clearance has nothing to do with products coming down the line. All it means is that they aren't getting any more of that product from the manufacturer. All it means is that the TFA core box has had its run and Target will no longer carry it. It is not evidence that Target is getting a new X-Wing product.
That doesn't necessarily mean that they *aren't* getting anything, but it's not evidence that they *are.*
