No Man's Sky

By ViscerothSWG, in X-Wing Off-Topic

I saw Y-Wing engines last night on a very not Y-Wing body. It gives me hope.

I've been wanting one of the bubble cockpits with the tie fighter wings, but if there are y-wings out there, they'd take the cake.

I did the trick in the video and found it quite lucrative. The Korvax station I'm currently at buys them at +98% average and most of the ships sell at -1% average. I found another way to make money. I found a planet with Korvax Vortex Cubes sprinkled liberally on its surface. It's a little dangerous though as if you take one you get a group of 3 Sentinels, 2 flying and 1 ground, who will "object" to your "collecting" of said cubes. Also make sure you kill the Sentinels before they report. I found out, after just running away, that there are Sentinels in space as well. :)

Find a crafting recipe that takes vortex cubes and when dismantled gives back at least one cube (beam impact theta). When you view that cube it's a stack of 1 of 100, instead of the usual 1 of 1. You can now stack all the other cubes onto that stack. You can do this with any items received through dismantling.

Unrelated, but I just read this and it's worth sharing. A story of an experience someone had:

This post is kinda long but I feel it's details are necessary for you to get the full picture of what happened. So there I was playing no mans sky jumping from system to system. Specifically I was looking for manufacturing facilities interested in finding different blueprints.

Well I came to one system which had one so I flew down to it. It was HEAVILY guarded by sentinels. Like at least 10 sentinels. I managed to fight my way into the facility and solve the little puzzle expecting a very valuable blueprint. To my shock, I didn't receive any blueprints or items or anything. I was pissed! I walked out of the facility and as soon as I did I received an "Anomaly Detected" notification. I became super curious as to what it could be. It was about 2 systems over so after fueling my hyperdrive I warped over to it. This is where it gets weird. The anomaly was actually on a planet which is something I've never seen before. I flew down and all it is, is a monolith.

Still curious at this point, I walk up to it and interact with it. It's just a normal korvax monolith. It only spoke one word which surprisingly I understood. "Give". I had the option to give 10 thamium9, 10 heridium or to ask what the monolith desired. I chose to ask. The monolith then pauses for a second before it says, "...I need about tree fiddy"

Well it was about that time that I noticed that this monolith was about an 8 story tall crustacean from the paleolithic era with big red eyes lookin down on me and I said "DAMMIT Loch Ness monster! I don told you I ain't givin you no **** tree fiddy! I work for my units and I don't give units away!" That's like the fourth time this week.

Severely underrated post.

I can increase it's rating for you though. It'll just cost about...$3.50

On a planet where i've found several drop pods and a decent multitool. Still can't find a dynamic resonator at a trade stop.

Best place to get one for free is a crashed ship. Accept the ship, deconstruct all it's upgrades, take the resonator, reacquire your actual ship.

And while you're at it, take the gold, emeril, omegon, and anything else that sells well.

I've yet to find a crashed ship, only found one drop pod to date.

I've yet to find a crashed ship

Likewise.

Found two, found 3 dropods. Both crashed ships I found why using eyes MK I. Only one drop pod was a "shelter" beacon, others were "dumb luck MK II".

Still don't get puzzles...

Every transmission tower has one of these inside. It gives the puzzle.

Only seen like one of them way back in the first system.

Is there any reason to keep the beam weapon on your ship? My experience, so far, has shown me the Photon Cannon is equal or better than the Laser. I'm thinking about scrapping it for more space to add other stuff.

Upgrade the laser. It's a lot deadlier with cooldown and damage upgrades than the Photon Cannon. I'm able to down pirate fighters in 4 hits at this point.

K so I found ALL the drop pods. my personal inventory is doing great.

Found several crashes, all but one smaller than my ship. aaand back to lacking a hyperdrive again.

Can you screenshot a transmission tower missing the terminal?

Not any more, they are all there on the planets i've reached now. My problem now is that trans towers like to keep pointing me to monoliths, i've found like 20 drop pods though, so my suit can carry a lot. and my ship does now have 20 slots, so not complaining so much...

On the Plus side though. I can now build all the components for hyperdrives, so no risk of being stranded.

Pro tip though, stations always sell the dynamic thingamybob.
