Tonight at 9pst. You can dl vassal and watch in lobby, or Hero said it would be on his twitch stream.
HERO's BigFish vs Lyraeus's Dodonna the Oppressor
YAY! More people to watch me get humiliated ![]()
Which is 9.5 hrs from now!
So I will have to catch the replay
Hero I assume your twitch name is Hero?

Same here.
As much as I'd love heckling these two while they play, I'll probably have to jump on as it's starting and start a vlog, then go to bed.
yeah me to 430 am eastern time wake ups are not funWhich is 9.5 hrs from now!

Good thing we are Pacific
I think it's less than luck. He had my list and as shown in BiggsIRL's pre-game, he dropped 2 YT2400's to A-Wings.Difficult to call; I have played both Hero and Lyraeus and consider them amongst the best players around. On top of that they are both playing fleets that they created, suit their playstyles and that they've fine tuned.
I'll have to go for Hero, but he has only a very a small margin for error or Lyraeus is more than capable of swallowing his fleet whole.
My reasons are:
Hero got lucky when is extremely high bid beat Lyreaus' very high bid
Lyreaus is running slightly less Intel than he would probably prefer, and skimped on a few items like jainas light for the sake of the unsuccessful bid.
Good luck to both players!
Regardless, this will be interesting.
If he actually dropped 2 YTs for As to underbid your specific list (which was already posted), that's pretty disingenuous IMO.
It was something I had considered when I posted my list first.
Three conclusions to be drawn if you are correct...
1. Hero's list went under no changes since January 2016 even with the advent of Wave 3+4 (which is when he posted the 4YT list on his site).
2. This might be a case where the initiative is proven to be far too powerful and maybe I might get a convert in "we need to change the initiative system" in this game.
3. Ewok Illuminati.
BUT
All joking aside, have fun ya'll. Don't get mired in the what if's or worried too much about the background noise. It's a game and it's not a big deal one way or another. You guys took something that was a bit ugly between you both on the boards and you turned it into a good thing for the community

I work till 730pm but if I can get off work earlier I will. . .

Hopefully this helps you rest easy. Oh, also. Check out the blog post before this thing took off. It talks about the importance of bidding.

Well the good news, is that there are a lot of good european players on vassal. So there will be others at better times for you to watch similar events.
More like Rieekan the Necromancer amirite?
Yeah I was also under the impression that was an organic change to the list following a brainstorming session with Greenie.
It was following a conversation with me a few days ago. We have both independently developed mc80 home one Akbar lists, so we're comparing notes. I suggested mixing rogues in with a-wings to simultaneously trim the bid while keeping the extra threat option that rogues give (esp the way it keeps the enemy squadron movement honest in turn1 and 2).
This was before the dark days, before the grudge match.

Dark days? I think people are having fun with this. This is not a grudge match to me. It is playing to play with no strings attached except some measure of pride.

You mean we aren't playing Aztec rules where the loser is beheaded to appease the blood god?

I think HERO can save the videos. . .
He can upload them to youtube with a little bit of effort directly from twitch.
cool
I also (go Lyraeus!) intend (Dodonna! Yeah!) to record (Kick his butt!) an entirely (Woo!) impartial (Lyraeus rocks!) report (Go Old Man General!) afterwards via my video blog thingo (Go Mc30s! Admonition rules! Mc80s are Terribad!!!).

Pregame interview with Task Force Orange -
LTD interviews Matt the Shadowlord, and we end up talking about ourselves more than the game!
Which is nice!

As Matt says at the end there, if he were playing "it would be a foregone conclusion..."
I also (go ACKBAR!) intend to watch the match (RED DICE GOOD, BLACK DICE BAD) and hope the best (AQUATIC!) general wins.
But more importantly that you both have fun. ![]()
