I know it's hard to believe, but I made that statement with no sarcasm on it. I actually am enjoying the hell out of this. I think it's great fun for the community and I think it'd be funny to just go all out with it.

I am coming into this game against HERO thinking I will lose so it's not so bad.

To let you folks know, I also have a Twitch channel I use for RTS/Strategy games so I will be streaming this live as I play the event. My regular viewers will probably have no clue what the hell I'm doing, but you guys will! I will then save it as a broadcast and it will stay up for the next couple of months.
In fact, I would be 100% down to do this for other players in the future, so I can watch and commentate on the game, and provide some kind of "eSports"-level commentary to the game with several other members of the community like Ly, Biggs, anyone else who would like to cover!
I think this is a huge step for the Armada community overall in terms of unity. It's fun, exciting, and a educational way to play games frankly. It adds a certain degree of fun and suspense, but it's also competitive and serious at the same time.

-taps the table quietly for a few moments- I... guess I'll back HERO on this one. Sorry Ly-ly, Hero's got squadrons which I'm always supportive of as a sort of moral high ground. And everyone knows what happens when you have the high ground. Still, it's not so much the volume of firepower so much as the rate of fire that makes me wince more than a bit. DtO might just be able to run under the guns with those numbers and that activation advantage, and RAF's are fickle beasts. Ackbar's boat is worth a ton of points, which right scares me. Digging the name Ackbar the Depressor, good job on that'n Wufame.
Either way, both lists feel really pretty edgy against one another in particular. It feels like it has the makings of a bloodbath or a runaway, pending more on positioning than almost anything else. XI-7 Home One vs small ship, and Dodonna/APT/TRCrit choice against 'the big pinata.
Great idea on the head-to-head idea for a match like this, I'm liking it a lot. Seriously well done. Curious to see how it all goes.

-laughs- you know me, mate, I'm a big time squadron player. If you can manage a mobility kill, like Madaghy said, well... that'd be something. The Dodonna is not to be underestimated. There's so many 'if/but' notions that I can't help but wonder about it. Good luck either way though, mate
