How long does an Epic game take usually?

Shortcut tip for setting up. I put the cardboard on the plastic bases and put the number identifiers on them the night before and packed them in an extra ziplock. Enabled very fast deployment of eleven starfighters at GenCon. Dont try to build your list at the table... Adds a lot of setup time.

On of the reasons I love my storage foam. I store all my models that way and usually just have to grab my usual suspects ready to deploy out of my bag. Vader, Soontir, Inquisitor, OL, Echo, Whisper, BSPs, etc all ready to grab and deploy right out of the bag. 50 lists or so printed out already and in that bag too.

That's one of the reasons why I love my Plano tray. I can store them all ready to go.....at a fraction of the cost for foam. :)

So you love your Plano because it's cheap, I am using foam. :P And I am totally accepting to pay 5% to 10% of the ship prices for my storage solutions, including even the plano boxes for tokens from Feldherr, which match the foam and bag sizes. It is a convenient thing for me.

You know what takes a long time? Unboxing 7 ShadowCasters and 6 Fang fighters for Team Epic at GenCon!!! It was EPIC

I think 10% of the cost of ships is a bit optimistic in regards to price of foam. It would cost me more than that, especially when you consider the constant expanding and ordering of new cases/bags.

Then again, we don't have to have this debate. Perhaps it's cheaper overall where you are with shipping and such.

Yeah, it seems that Feldherr is a lot more expensive in the usa than over in europe.

https://www.feldherr.net/hsbe050bo-foam-tray-for-10-star-wars-x-wing-star-ships-with-base/a-51753/ <<< directly from europe, foam for 10 small base ships with base, like in the imaged linked $6.95

Amazon price, as well from Feldherr, but this time shipping from a us amazon logistic center is $9.99: https://www.amazon.com/HSBE050BO-foam-tray-X-WING-Ships/dp/B00PW7E67Y/

10 small ships are usually a decent junk above $100, so it mostly checks out even with us amazon prices. Cardboard cases are gigantic and cheap, while bags and hard cases come with large discounts on the foam, making the bags basically free.

That $90 hardcase version for example can be filled with whatever foam you like for free. It fits about 10 of those $6.95 foams, though usually I would add 2 from the large more expensive ones for the epics and finish the rest with 6 ones fitting to your fleet and add a full-size plano from Feldherr for token and cards.

Still, no point to argue about storage solutions. Nearly all solutions in use are valid, it usually just a question of taste, price, and personal requirements. Plano's clearly have their advantages. Battlefoam with their ridiculous tight custom cuts are incredible good to store stuff at the smallest possible space, I do like Feldherr for convenience and okish price, and speaking of price: Nothing beats micro hangars there.

Whatever storage solution you use for epic, preparing your ships for easy deployment is a good plan, cards or lists, tokens as well, especially sorted target locks can reduce the amount of time wasted in search for a look greatly.

I would agree except that premium of 5-10% would be way too big given my collection size. My three plano 1374's are almost full and my epics are on a shelf.

That and I pay full price at local store as I like to support a place to play.
