Nationals Fleet 2

Assault Frigate Mark II B (72 points)

[ flagship ] CR90 Corvette B (39 points)

- General Rieekan ( 30 points)

= 69 total ship cost

1 Luke Skywalker ( 20 points)

1 Wedge Antilles ( 19 points)

1 Tycho Celchu ( 16 points)

1 "Dutch" Vander ( 16 points)

1 Dash Rendar ( 24 points)

1 Han Solo ( 26 points)

Two general points.

Both lists are lacking intel, either jan or a hwk (the escorts get shot first so being a rieekan ace isnt a necessity)

Both lists lack a massive great bomber, normally Keyan or Nym.

Now with that aside, the first list is the common variety of this archetype, though normally features tantive. I personally prefer jaina myself too.

The second list is different. You will find that Rieekans corvette gets heavily targeted, not necessarily a bad thing as long as you are prepared for that. The assault frigate can generally run quite well if the battle goes against you.

Between the lists, it basically comes down to how you want to look after Rieekan. These lists live and die by his ability.

Also superior positions encourages your opponent to turtle to such a degree that your best move is sometimes not to engage. That sucks which is why I wouldnt take it personally. Its also why I stopped running a similar list.

Good luck. Hopefully I will be there, and if so I look forward to playing most wanted with you! ;)

If you take nothing else from me, ADD Intel!

Nice one mate. Thanks for the tips.

Yeah the CorvB is there as a lifeboat really. He is going to play keep away for the battle and be an extra activation.

Look forward to seeing you up there mate.

I love salvation paired up with yavaris, salvation is the bait you use to ensure they have to engage, yavaris is trap. Lovely combo.

To be fair I might be able to dig up my Yavaris, Salvation, Adar Assault Frigate, max squads Rieekan fleet, if anyone is interested in running it or similar.

That sounds like a pretty interesting fleet actually!

Ginks thanks for the advice on Keyan. Made a lot of sense so dropped Tycho for him. Keyan did a lot of work.

Didn't take Jan though but didn't really miss Intel funnily enough. Nuked enemy squads and then let the heroes loose on ships. Double tapping Keyan and Luke are horrendous!!

Glad to be of help.

Not surprised you didn't miss Jan. Where were the squads!

Sorry mate I'm a bit confused....haha

What do you mean about where were the squads :P

Who won?

The winner ( I can't remember his name) was a guy who playered nice list of three decked out Glads ( all engine techs, ACM, OEs, one with demo) and a full fat set of fighters.

Can't remember the rest of the details.

I didnt see many heavy squads lists all day. Just small escorts to be overwhelmed.

Well I must have played most of them...haha.

First game was a mirror match Rieekan Aces, 2nd game was squadrons light, 3rd game was squadron light, 4th game was against quite a big Rhymerball with bombers and Firesprays with advanced escorts and Mauler (had to drop him and Dengar asap) and last game was Rieekan aces with quite a few Scuurg bombers thrown in.

There wasn't huge amounts of fighter cover as people opted for more bomber heavy forces it seems.

The good thing about aces is they do both pretty well especially with Yavaris.

Yeah once Demo destroyed the other Demo the ISD was surrounded by 3 GSDs.....quite brutal!! Glad I didn't play against that list.

From what other people were telling me he was just superb at flying this, played the three Glads spread out and got them concentrated perfectly.

He told me he had developed it as a response to ackbar congers and had been refining the play for a while...... Learning seems to be.....refine your list then play the hell out if it....

Demolisher with Engine Techs and all the toys

Insidious with Engine Techs and all the toys

Screed with Engine Techs and all the toys

A Mauler, Dengar, Rhymer, Firespray ball.

He won Sheffield regionals too.

The good news, that list now has to be buried cause of wave III and IV.

Yeah from what I heard he had a close loss in game 4 just due to a silly error when trying to tie down some squadrons near the end of the game (I think fatigue was getting to everyone by then)

That was the first loss he had with that list in 10 games or so....it's a good list and he obviously knows how to fly it very well.
