What if FFG didn't spoil the wave after next before the next has even been released?

I would much prefer having played a wave before the next is announced, just piling on more stuff to wait for doesn't seem to make it more exciting.

Though in this case it did make me appreciate wave 9 even more now :P

I would also prefer at least dials to stay unspoiled until release.. its so lame to see people talk about lists they've been playing for months before they even exist.

Getting my impvets didn't feel like something new, everyone else had used it months before me.

Hell, I completely agree with geeko here so long as I'm not the one rolling the dice

Even if it is suicidal charge dengaroo from the front, you can HALF his damage output on the joust by giving up a mere 20% of your list's firepower to block his 2 sloop and, by extension, his ability

That play testing and list theorizing is more effective when the entire player base has a chance to do so. Look at how quickly torpedo boats came about and how deceptively strong dengaroo is. It is the same reason why free enterprise is far more effective than centrally controlled economies (Venezuela). If I were FFG I would spoil stuff early enough to make changes in case the player base finds something broken that FFG missed.

Dengaroo is tailored to cause problems for multi-ace lists - who wants to lose 1/3 to 1/2 or their list's damage output to Dengar's revenge fire ability? 1/5 isn't quite as much of a worry, though.

I imagine Crackswarm will be just as effective with sheer volume of fire and number of targets; unlike the Marauders it has clear target priority if Howlrunner is taken though.

How about 4 Black Sun Aces with Crackshot and two with Black Market Slicer Tools?

Back on to the spoilers:

I agree that they need to be spoiled earlier. The testers (which are around 30 odd, worldwide?) cannot test everything possible. They play the obvious ones such as removing the EPT from the Ghost, giving the Adv. Proto a tile (assuming it didn't come with it originally, I mean, imagine that for a second!) but by the time they get round to the stupid combos such as quad TLT and triple jumps, the ships are so far into the process it is more of a quality check than a design re-write.

What it does allow however is early feed back which can be addressed in the coming waves.

Now if they spoiled all the cards or at least the cards which they had concerns about in their own testing, these would hit vassel and tables in a far greater number and those combos would come out sooner.

with the majority of the resistance's t-70s destroyed in the battle over starkiller base and the new republic reduced to powder, our heroes have been forced to utilize alternative craft to take the fight to the first order

Shouldn't there be blue and red TIEs now that the Rebels have all the TIEs?

I'm all for one wave to come out before the next one is announced. It totally kills the buzz and excitement. Having done marketing and sales for more years than I care to remember, it just seems weird to me to get your target audience hyped for product that happens to be that far off, when another bunch of product that they should be hyped for is almost ready to go to market. I get that they want something fun to talk about at GenCon or whatever event they're at. I just wish they wouldn't do it.

I think it could be turned into a good marketing opportunity IF they tied their announcements back to the previous wave

Easy examples:

Stolen Tie --> new cap Rex crew--> hey remember the ARC?

Stolen Tie --> new illicit --> like a certain smuggling compartment, eh?

UPS shuttle --> hey Kylo likes it when enemies suffer critical damage; remember Backdraft? First Order Synergy!!!! --> new tech! Don't forget the SF guys!!!!
