What if FFG didn't spoil the wave after next before the next has even been released?

By ParaGoomba Slayer, in X-Wing

This way the upcoming wave would actually be exciting.

Cargo drops are pretty cool. They immediately give stress if deployed onto a ship, which means Soontir gets double stressed when he has to move through them. And at 1 point, come on.

And hey, your opponent drops a Cargo Token? NOT IF I BLOW IT OUT OF THE SKY WITH MY SEISMIC TORPEDO! That's so cool.

Black Market Slicer Tools aren't going to do much to the meta, but they'll at least do something. I'm seriously considering Saboteur now because of them.

GenCon throws a spanner in the works; FFG really wants to have stuff to talk about at their panels.

Usually they don't announce the next wave before the current one has hit shelves, or at least they leave it a lot closer to the release. We had Wave 8 for a while before Wave 9 was announced, for example.

It's a **** shame we're not allowed to talk about anything other than the most recently announced wave.

Spoiling builds up hype and lets a broader audience know of new stuff coming out and therefore raises sales, which is why they will always do it. Move on.

It's a **** shame we're not allowed to talk about anything other than the most recently announced wave.

Of course we are!

Let's start with breakfast. I feel the need for a large Americano and a nice, greasy bacon and egg sandwich with lashings of HP sauce.

I'm thinking of starting with a nice glass of sake . . . and probably continue on that trajectory all day. ^_^

Nobody's saying we're not allowed to talk about stuff other than the latest announcement, don't be so absurdly reductionist. I agree with the OP, excitement is reduced for the upcoming wave by the announcement of what's after it*. I can understand why they do it, of course, and it's not the end of the world, but I personally would find upcoming stuff more exciting if there was less of it on its way at any one time (that we knew of).

*except when the upcoming wave is ARC 170s and the ones after are repainted TIE Fighters.

Chicken Tender (just one for verity) Hash Browns, Sausage-Egg & Cheese Biscuit... and half a pot of good coffee... all in Boss' immediate future... spoilers given... now don't get mad because you are hungry and to lazy to make your own nice-ass-brak-brak!

 :P ;)

I'm angry because I haven't even had supper yet and you're already telling me what's for breakfast!

Yeah but you are not lazy... just busy... get Dat Brak my fine fellow!

;)

The only problem i have with spoiling are those folks that actually proxy the spoiled stuff while i choose to wait then when i do get it the folks that have proxied it all ready know how to use all the new combos..But its not THAT big a deal. I just like to have SOME surprises left when i open the box..And its not like i am a hyper competitive player that has to be on the cutting edge meta..However I do come on here and read all about the new stuff so i am just as bad..lol

I prefer to know everything before hand. I still don't have all I want from previous waves and only have a certain amount of money to spend each year, so when I start buying stuff I'd like to know as much as possible about future releases and whether those contain ships I need more than the ships I don't have yet (or not enough), so I can spend my money on the ships I need most first or wait for that particular future expansion to hit the shelves.

You need ARC 170s.

Double Bacon, two sausages, two eggs, black pudding, chips and beans for me . . in about five minutes.

Then around 3pm I tend to go for a small chocolate bar which varies between Terry's or standard Dairy Milk. This is accompanied by a nice cup of tea.

Tea will be PG tips (its what the office supplies), tea bag on a spoon pressed against the side of the cup and proceed to pour the hot water directly through the bag, appling pressure as needed. After that, I tend to let it brew for a minute or two before adding milk (green top, can't stand blue, red or *shudder* orange).

Discuss.

but this is true of everyone in every situation

and I need Imperial Veterans to make some viable defender lists, and I still need a Raider (or at least palp + Tie advanced title, but I eventually want that epic ship as well)

What about Orange Clubs and Double Deckers?

Orange Clubs are boss. I love them but I find I have to buy and therefore consume an entire pack. Same with penguin bars. Double Deckers are OK, not my normal go to, kinda like me flying a Decimator, I like the idea but it just does nothing for me.

Update:

So I went to café as I originally intended, the food was great as always despite having a heart attack worthy amount of calories. The waitress was on point, both service and looks so that softened the blow a little.

Unfortunately I deviated from the plan a little. As I am planning on heading to the gaming club tonight and subs are £4 for 6pm to 11pm and almost everyone pays in notes, I figured I would help out and get some change. This means that I had to shell out for a can of Coca Cola as well.

Now I feel dirty, as dirty as a Rebel TIE Fighter with crackshot and Glitterstim.

Whilst there though I did ponder to myself what is possible of defeating the Dengar / Manaroo lists I keep seeing (Zuckuss crew is admittedly most of the problem) and it hit me. Why not a Mando Merc with Deadeye, Guidance Chips, Adv.Homing Missiles and Boba Crew? You can sneak that face up right under the shields of Dengar and either remove Zuckuss or his rather annoying 12 point title. But what do you put with him?

Additionally, I chuckled to myself as I remembered I still have four X wings in my KR case and will wind people up by using them to a mediocre effect tonight.

@OP: Right? Right????? I would be all on board with that. 1 upcoming wave at a time please, with the occasional Aces pack or epic ship mixed in.

I'd also be fine- nay, more than fine- if FFG didn't announce new products so far in advance. Like if they waiting until the things were actually on the boat before announcing them, so that we only had around 6 weeks to 2 months to wait before they hit the shelves. That's plenty of time to get excited and get preorders submitted, without being so long that the hype dies down and gets stale.

Just my 2¢.

EDIT: it's even worse with Armada right now. Nothing for months and months, and then all of a sudden, BAM! Now we're sitting on 3 (THREE!) upcoming waves and the campaign pack. I'm genuinely curious (auto correct tried to correct that to "furious", heh heh ) as to what FFG is thinking with that marketing decision...

To be fair, waves three and four and just one wave really.

EDIT... Baby BLUE won't Blue Nuff... lol. Looking at these little paintings online is different sometimes than looking at 'em in the art programs I use.

She's BLUE ... NOW... Dammit!
