My problem with them is that they list the attributes and skills, but don't combine them into a roll. I can't remember which attribute all the skills use, and burn time trying to check it out. Even if they just listed it after the skill, it would be helpful (i.e. Mechanics (Int) 2).
Do the official stat blocks for adversaries bother anyone else?
Yeah, that does bug me some times. It might be useful to give the dice code for rolls on Rivals and Nemeses, and give the associated attribute for each Minion group skill.
It's not a huge issue, but I can definitely see potential for improvement!
Edited by Absol197Yeah this did bug me a little in the begining. I ended up printing out the first page of the character sheet, cutting it down to just the skills section and keeping it with my GM screen.
I keep a little reference handy to remind myself of this stuff. It also includes other stuff I tend to forget... like all the social skill interactions (like which skills oppose which) and a few things to keep my imagination churning (like every suggestion from the CRB as far as what to do with Advantages, Threats, Triumphs and Despair). I don't rely on them exclusively but they're a good place to start...
It actually started as a note to remember those social interactions and it grew organically (that is MESSILY!) from there. If I ever neatened it up and made it look less like some raving lunatic was transcribing the musings of a space hamster named Boo, I'd probably upload it... but, for now, Boo says not to do it.
Go for the Eyes, Boo!!!
Edit: Boo said I could post one of the skills from that reference sheet:
Astrogation (Intellect, General, Pg. 104)
s B etter target the location
a Reduce trip duration
T Greatly reduce travel time, reveal valuable unknown information
t Increase trip duration or accuracy
d Similar to T with greater magnitude or indicate mishap
(on my sheet, the s, a, T, t, d are the actual symbols but they're not translating into the editor)
Edited by Fred PalpatineI don't know why, but I feel I should ask about Boo and the gaming advice that a space hamster may possess. I feel like it'd be of great benefit.
Edited by YelshaNuI think part of the reason for not combining is flexibility. Like say you want to recognize the kind of blaster someone is using. That is not a agility+ranged light. That is a Intelligence+Ranged light. If they did not give you the int and the skill separated you would not be able to do that.
