Another time you had Soontir in R2 and yet you chose to use TLT rather than primary. The only reason that I can think of you doing that is because in the former case you had your focus tokens available while in the latter you spent them to weaken the enemy attacks so you were shooting naked dice. Ahh, it's always a difficult decision, and I've gone back and forth between the two shots often in the middle of the game. I weigh a few different things to determine it.

1) My modifications. If I only have a single F token, I'll almost always take the primary shot. This way I only have 3 opportunities to spend it, which likely means actually only 2 of the 3 will benefit from it, which means that I'll only have one sub-optimal roll. Likewise if I don't have any F tokens but do have a TL, I'm more likely to take the primary. If I have no modifiers, I'm more likely to take the TLT. The thought being that a TL 4 dice attack is probably better than a 3 dice TL, and a 3 dice unmodified, where as two 3 unmodified is probably better than a single 4 unmodified.

2) My opponent's modifications. If they have plenty of tokens, I gravitate towards shooting the primaries with the intention of getting them to spend the F+E so the end round TLT can go through. Likewise, I'll typically go with the primary if Autothrusters are in the discussion.

3) My opponent's agility. This should be an easy one - low agility targets that I feel that I should be able to do 3-4 damage, I'll take the primary over the TLT. Higher agility targets favor the TLT because it gives them two opportunities to blank on their greens. Is the attack obstructed or at R3?

4) Current board situation. This is hard to quantity, but can I realistically wipe someone off the board with one vs. the other? Am I going to live to the end phase to get the TLT? Will I want to save my F tokens for defense? Will a well placed crit greatly help me out? Am I drastically losing and need to get lucky to turn it around? Am I ahead and need to stay consistent?

And I'm not going to lie - while I think about all of these things when determining which attack to use, but I'm far from saying there is a rule that I follow for one vs. the other. I probably wasn't consistent in which weapon I used from shot to shot throughout the day in general.

The other scenario that always makes me think real hard - Do I take the R1 shot on someone, knowing that I'll have to take a TLT on someone else in the end phase, or do I double down on the R2 target? Again, this would depend on modifiers, I would typically take the TL+F R1 shot if I had both. If I had a TL on the R2 target, I'd typically go with that guy (and then do I take a TLT or primary?!?! ARRG!), or if I could realistically kill one or the other, I would prioritize that guy.

Did I ever have a Scyk in arc? I know the opening round where the first one popped he wasn't in arc, second round I used a focus for Kanan's ability and took a primary at Manaroo, 3rd round the only shot I had was R1.

I recalled both sycks died to tlt, and manaroo took a range 1 primary from biggs. I think manaroo took something like 6dmg from tlt alone, then biggs finished her off with a 4 hit natural

The last syck was in your rear arc at range 2. Got tactician-ed after a kturn
