Vader Leading 3 Vic 1s.

I'm going to be taking this list to a smaller event this weekend in Edmonton. Most of the choices in this list are of things not perceived as the most competitive and I really have no expectations this will do well. But I am excited to just try out these combinations and experiment with Admiral Vader for a weekend.

Idea behind the list is doubling down on LR red dice and winning prolonged fire fights at range. Seeing Vader give my red dice an advantage of being one of the few ppl who can re roll red dice at LR he helps make the most of thos engagements. Sensor team lets me get accuracy's on my reds when I need them if I cant fish them with a re roll. Each Vic only gets one volley a turn but I can get 4 red dice in my side and rear arc with a CF order 5 out the front. running my Vic close together will help them be able to gang up on one target a turn. Tractor beams let me keep med/small ships in bad spots if there put there. The 4 aggressors just try to lock down bombers as they come in.

I expect bad match ups to be Rebel swarms with either Reeiken or Mothma.

My bid is to most likely used to let me pick second, I want to see how this list performs 2nd.

I would drop Vader in favor of Motti or Tagge, you do not want to be sacrificing defense tokens on an ISD-I. I would also get rid of slaved turrets for Xi-7's, one extra red die vs firing from both arcs and stopping brace (Intel Officer) and most of the redirect is not a good trade for the extra die.

If possible, scrape out the 15 points for Assault Proton Torps on each ship. Your close with the removal of Vader for the other admiral. Motti would require you take 1 point from your bid, Tagge 2 points.

I just think you'll get better mileage from these changes. I fly the VSD a great deal and Vader just isn't anywhere near as good as he looks on paper.

You want the enemy in close, where your Q7's can lock them in place and you whale on them with Black and Red dice with APT's.

A final change would be to drop Sensor Teams for Ordnance Experts. If you want to fire at range, get a VSD-II :-)

I've run a very similar list with decent success. The slaved turrets + Intel officer backed by Vader for rerolls works out surprisingly well. Sensor teams should be nice, I think I only had Intel slaved and boosted on mine with a larger anti squadron force so even more red die insurance could be valuable
