Because the Piett Character was the only "Imperial Officer" to be in two movies, and be played by the same Actor.
That's Continuation that no-one else got!
The Super Star Destroyer is coming...
We don't need another SSD thread, and the one on SSD's is several dozen pages long.
You can dream but you are building up hopes for something that most likely will never happen, or at least not in the way you want it. (There are plenty of reason not to introduce them and they have been explained to death. So unless we don't care at all about balance or just throw the canon of the SSD under the bus just to have the model it won't happen. So pick your poison, do you want to destroy game balance or get a sad looking under powered model? Those are your choices. And I am talking about the Executor Class specifically since when ever someone says "SSD" they mean the Executor.)

At Epic scale, to Hell with game balance if I get an SSD. The battle of Endor wasn't balanced.
Besides, points provide balance. I don't even care if it is tournament legal, especially if all its upgrade cards are! Your arguments fall on deaf ears. I wan an Epic scale SSD!
I believe the card art entrails.

Done.
Its not like any of them were using their hearts, anyway ![]()
You mean I cant just put my X-wing Raider on it and give it 4 command dials and only move it with the navigation command?

Hmm, good question. We'll have to find out.
Could you please slice yourself open so that I might cast some aurebesh runes into your innards?

How long till Thrawn is in this game I wonder?

Not very long. He'll be a Rebels character, so that means he'll come.

Mel has already made an Executor that's a size suitable for table play, yet suitably huge. Just go have a look at it.
FFG could easily do the same. I mean, they already did it for X-wing, so why not Armada?
The Executor need not be available for tournament play. Again, precedent from X-wing.
But the expansion itself could be full of nice upgrades you'd want for your normal games. Also precedent.
So again, I see no reason why FFG would not produce the Executor.
Relatedly: why would FFG NOT produce the Executor, sooner or later I mean? Seems completely insane.
because of the .... scale.
However even Attack Wing released the Oversized Borg Cube TWICE. So there seems to be money to make with this. EVEN in Attack Wing.
I always wonder why people are so pressed over Admiral Piett. I get he was in the movie, and commanded the Executor, so at some point he should be made available. However, the folks that think he needs to have some kind of grand ability seem to have forgotten exactly what he does in the movies, which is 'nothing' special. He gets promoted because Ozzel was an idiot. He lets the Falcon jump away at the end of Empire. He commands the fleet at Endor. The Rebels have a fraction of the Imperial fleet. The Empire has a functioning Death Star. Yet he lets the Executor get taken out by an errant A-Wing. Sorry guys, but Piett was en empty uniform.
His ability should be something along the lines of: "When your Fleet Admiral dies, Piett becomes your new Admiral. All friendly ships immediately lose access to their defense tokens until Piett's ship is destroyed." That at least would be appropriate to his flavor. Maybe give him a negative points value so taking him allows for a bigger fleet, but boy you better protect your primary Admiral.
"Even the best General is helpless against a tiny force that wears plot armour".

Armada is relative scale. So they got that one covered.
X-Wing Epic was also done on the idea that, although they'd start with one, there would be alternatives for the other factions in time...
...
In canon, the Rebels equivalent is...........?
I guess that's my biggest concern. Sure, they could do it - but its lopsided with no plan for the future that we know of.
The only way I see it being sensibly introduced to the satisfaction of all players.
As a SuperStarDestroyer Scenario game. Attack the star destroyer/defend the star destroyer. That way the imbalance is kept in check by the scenario rules, and those who just want to play with a SSD get to do so.
I'd love to see an "epic-scale" Armada game with Executor-class vessels being only the length of Armada ISDs - or possibly even smaller.
Even if the rules were basically unmodified Armada with the ship models being proxies (so, Executor=Victory, Assertor=Imperial, Eclipse=Immobilizer (it has gravity well projectors), ISD Squadron=TIE Advanced Squadron, Allegiance=Decimator, and so forth).
It would be lovely to see 30+ ISDs and an SSD on the tabletop for a small-scale Battle of Endor game.
They could always go new republic for the "rebel" counterpart to the SSD. Or who knows, maybe episode 1 of the next season of rebels will have them dropping by a previously unseen rebel SSD size craft that then gets destroyed, explaining why it nevers shows up in ANH.
I don't remember who put this on a thread (with is photo) but I think to put a SSD on the surface of two large base back to back, could be something realizable.
Maybe it will not respect the scale size but at least we could have it. And don't forget that we already have model that do not respect their suppose real size.
I know there could be a balance issue against the Rebel, but put the price tag high enough for the SSD to keep the balance at a state that will keep it.
And by the way, bring me Piett. Maybe he died badly and seems to do nothing in the movies but it was one of my best admiral in Star Wars Rebellion (PC game).

And it's not as if the Executor would need to be actually to scale with the ISD miniature (because that would be insane). It would just need to be obviously bigger than the ISD.

Even relative scale has its limits. Its relative scale not ridiculous scale.

It needs to be more than obviously bigger than the ISD. It need to be multiple times bigger if the SSD should not look like s skrinked mutant next to the ISD.
If the SSD is twice as wide as the ISD, that would make it four times as long. I think that would be suitably huge to get the point across in Armada's relative scale.
