The Super Star Destroyer is coming...

By JadinED, in Star Wars: Armada

Take another look, guys. What do you see in the picture?

Just a few weeks backs, we had the discussion if the Arquitens were coming, since they were on the cover art of the Corellion Conflict campaign expansion...

Well... here we have the Super Star Destroyer art on one of the new Fleet Command upgrade cards...

While I know that your just messing around, the Slaved Turrets is a picture of a DP20 Corellian Gunship, and we don't have that yet.

becaiuse I see:

1) "Entrapm..." - Standard Star Destroyers.

2) "Shields..." - Thought it was the inside of the ship, but its some space battle...

3) "All Fight...." - A Quasar-Fire Carrier.

Look at the very top of the "Shields" card. Bigger star destroyer...

Oh, so you're confirming that we'll get a portion of a Super Star Destroyer, since that is what is shown?

I'll take the full Quasar-Fire first, thanks :D

Or, I'll take the Exploding Planet on Tarkin for 200!

there is a neb B2 on the adar tallon card, and i dont have an official one of those yet

...which by the way makes me feel pretty certain that Fleet Command upgrades will be available to Imperials sooner rather than later. Hopefully in the same expansion as Piett. :D

Relatedly: why would FFG NOT produce the Executor, sooner or later I mean? Seems completely insane.

Because in the recent developer interviews, they stated that a priority was, and I quote: "Game Balance"...

In most of the scenarios brewed up by people, there seems to be a concurrent theme where the Executor is either patently unbalanced, or anemic to the point of why bother?

I mean, a lot of things seems to rely on our points of view, after all.

Piett I want Piett :(

Admiral Piett : Ability immune to Darth Vader :D

I am sure they will release it someday and it will most likely not fit into a standard tournament list.

Having a ship that costs significantly more than the ISD would probably require a boost in build maximum, otherwise your fleet will be the SSD and some frigate, no squads.

I am kinda curiouss why we have not seem Piett yet. My only guesss is that FFG wants to give him a really good ability, and they have not come up with something that they feel is good enough. His is kinda the most prominent imperial admiral in the movies.

Yeah I bet it will be like they did with Xwing's large corvett or raider. I could see the SSD as part of a special scenario kit.

And yet, distressingly...

not a single person as complained that we're getting Moff Jerjerrod, and he wasn't included in a Death Star Expansion....

That was a type 6 assault frigate mk1 I thought.

Seems like a perfect sequel to the Corellian Conflict! Next campaign comes with an SSD and is oriented around the Battle of Endor!

Should have been packed in with the Death Star 2 mat, and Lando in Cloud City.

And before I forget, there's a huge difference between reused at on an upgrade card and the front of a game box advertising the game contents and concepts.

I always wonder why people are so pressed over Admiral Piett. I get he was in the movie, and commanded the Executor, so at some point he should be made available. However, the folks that think he needs to have some kind of grand ability seem to have forgotten exactly what he does in the movies, which is 'nothing' special. He gets promoted because Ozzel was an idiot. He lets the Falcon jump away at the end of Empire. He commands the fleet at Endor. The Rebels have a fraction of the Imperial fleet. The Empire has a functioning Death Star. Yet he lets the Executor get taken out by an errant A-Wing. Sorry guys, but Piett was en empty uniform.

His ability should be something along the lines of: "When your Fleet Admiral dies, Piett becomes your new Admiral. All friendly ships immediately lose access to their defense tokens until Piett's ship is destroyed." That at least would be appropriate to his flavor. Maybe give him a negative points value so taking him allows for a bigger fleet, but boy you better protect your primary Admiral. :)

Needa was chasing the falcon hence his death.

I'm talking about the end of Empire, over Bespin. Not after the battle of Hoth.
