Dice game supplies.

By Runnestrand, in Star Wars: Destiny

I have played several, and continue to play a couple CCGs, so I am all set with regards to supplies for card games. But this will be the first dice game I've ever bought into. I'm not sure if this board is just FFG/Star Wars fans, or if we have some people with competetive dice game experience. I'm wondering what sort of supplies people use/recommend. Do you just toss your dice in a deck box or token bag? Do official events use a dice tower/dice cup to cut down on cheating? If FFG launches the game with a branded dice cup, I am so in.

I do not play other dice games, but I have friends who do, I see a lot of them using small flat tackle boxes to hold their dice in. I have seen people with small pull out tackle box like containers. If you are looking for something on the dice side of things, I would suggest looking at the fishing and bait part of a store and see what they have there, seems to be some kind of a connection.

I play DiceMasters and use Deckboxes with baggies for my teams. I can fit 2 teams in one deck box with their 20 dice and 10 cards. Other people use various things to carry their teams/decks.

I don't know if that will work here, there will be less dice, presumably, and more cards, obviously plus the dice appear to be much larger.

I'll likely be figuring out how to transport decks when I get my hands on stuff and start building the collection. I have a friend that makes 3D printed dicemasters cases, if he gets into this game, I'm sure he'll come up with something to make for it.

As far as storing a collection, plano tackle boxes work great with dice that need sorted, though again these dice will be bigger and you'll need less of them so might have to figure that one out too...

Dice Towers are acceptable in DiceMasters, though no one I play with uses them. I presume they'd be okay here too, but how would they help with cheating?

How about using a SW mug as a dice cup? :)

It is possible, through practice and "sleight of hand" to throw certain types of dice in such a way as to increase your chance of a certain outcome. This is most prevalent in places like Vegas where cheating can lead to potentially huge piles of cash. If you ever see someone who DOESN'T shake the dice in their hands and then almost "lays them down" onto the table with very little rolling involved, they might be trying to cheat. It looks ridiculous and is so uncommon that I can't imagine dice towers or dice cups being required in a game like this.

I was checking out these dice chests , which seem sweet (especially with a custom Star Wars logo), but I'm not sure how big the Destiny dice are. The site says the chests fit dice up to 20mm which is large, but the Destiny dice seem pretty chunky from what I've seen. Do we have an official measurement?

I am planning a double deck box for my deck and dice. It Seems like it would work well. As far as storing my collection/Trades, I'm looking at Star Wars LCG boxes for the dice.

While the card sorting is a matter of visual preference between Bindered and Boxed, I will weigh in on dice storage options both interesting and practical:

This egg-foam gun case with an affordable price tag would hold a slew, and certainly look cool opened up with an array of colorful dice nestled in the crevices:

If that is a bit too eccentric for your taste, I prefer snap-tight organizers with removable plastic bins for many games. The following I highly recommend, and it will hold the larger sized dice produced for Star Wars: Destiny

I was thinking a dice bag.

Not sure how these would work for the SW dice...

This is what I used for dice masters when I played it competitively. One side held all the dice the other held the cards and pen n paper and dice bag etc.

For storage I used a binder and planos (calcutta actually and it looks way cooler).

Later I began top loading my team and all the dice in the dice bag. Then I stopped playing competitively because where I was at there was no competition lol,
