Linux support for the App?

By LagAdder, in Mansions of Madness

I wonder since 'Elder Sign Omens' has Linux support, will the Mansion of Madness App follow suit? :)

Linux support would be greatly appreciated!

Yes it would be nice :)

Please release companion apps on linux as well!

You could run the Android versions through a Linux emulator. Not as good as a native app, but better than nothing.

This is how I managed to run the Steam app under linux (Ubuntu 16.04):

1. Install Wine ( https://www.winehq.org/download ). I suggest the last stable version - 1.8.

2. Install Steam ( http://store.steampowered.com/ )

3. Install steamcmd ( https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SteamCMD#Linux )

4. Open at least once steam and login with your account, then quit.

5. Run steamcmd and from its console run:

@sSteamCmdForcePlatformType windows

login <your_steam_username_here>

app_update 478980 validate

quit

I don't know if it's related, but before downloading the app from Linux I installed it on a Windows machine. If the steamcmd command fails, try installing it first on Windows (so that the app is on your library)

6. Run

wine ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Mansions of Madness/Mansions of Madness.exe

I run it windowed, fullscreen i have issues (but maybe it's just me)

Hope it helps!

This worked for me.

What changed when I did it was:

* I typed `login` before setting windows platform. (was not connecting in the other order).

* When I started the game with Wine, Steam downloaded it a second time from the steam client.

Working fullscreen on Arch Linux with wine-2.0-rc4 with all the lib32 recommended libs installed.

So it helped, thank you a lot.

I would love linux support for this. Or, make it a web based app.

Yes, please add Linux support.

I'm also both a Linux fan and Mansions fan. It would be very nice to have these two things go smoothly together.
