So my idea was a 0 to 1 point modification that was:

Side A - Twin Linked

Primary Attack 3 Only, (Maybe Small Ship Only)

-When performing a primary attack from your firing arc at range 1-2 you may turn one blank result to a focus result.

Side B - Quad Linked

Primary Attack 3 Only, (Maybe Small Ship Only)

-When performing a primary attack from your firing arc at range 1 you may turn one black result to a hit result.

Opinions, or suggestions?

I'd do Quad-link as Blank -> Focus and Twin Link as Focus -> Hit. Twin is easier to hit with at all times but Quad is devastating if you focus on that shot.

If you are looking at this as some kind of "X-Wing fix" this is actually what I'd consider when someone mentions various s-foil BS.

As far as fluff goes I'm someone inclined to agree with Blue Five and say that they may be better off switched around. I don't know about you but when I flew in X-Wing I was FAR more likely to use quad link when my target was at a distance giving my shots more time to converge. When I had lots of targets in close is when I wanted the increased fire rate of just twin, or even unlinked, weapons; when you're too close the quads just didn't seem like I'd often land more than two hits anyway because of convergence.

I wonder what the math would be on how this upgrade would effect these ships, and if it would be enough to maybe make them more relevant or competitive.
