Is there any interest in a Rebels TV series A-wing expansion?

By avaktor, in X-Wing

Given that there are already two expansions containing A-wings, would anyone be interested in a third A-wing expansion based on Rebels?

There's Phoenix Squadron, possibly a Phoneix Leader title, named pilots could include Ahsoka Tano, Hera Syndulla (her pilot ability might be too powerful on an A-wing), Sabine Wren (I think she flies an A-wing, and it's not like she's in enough ships already :P ). Looking in wookiepedia I see "Dicer" for a low PS unique.

What would be the preference, an Aces style box with two ships or a single ship expansion? Personally I'd prefer the latter, a single A-wing with new pilots and stuff.

I should make it clear that I haven't watched much of Rebels and I'm not really fussed either way about the series. I do however like A-wings, a lot, and will champion almost any excuse for more A-wing :D

Would be nice to get a title or mod to boost the native attack to 3

I would definitely be interested in a Rebels pack with the Rebels A-wing and Blade wing, though it would look similar to Rebel Aces.

More A wings? Hmm...

HECK YEAH!

I can't speak for everyone, but... I think the game has plenty of Rebels representation at this point. Let's look at other sources if we could. Heck, I'd be more interested in them making something from that Lego show... Except, not lego of course... Ok nevermind, bad idea. But still. Rebels has got plenty of representation.

Not exactly...

But if yes, I want a modification to make it shoot backwards (reversible lasers or something). Also, very cheap Phoenix Squadron PS 0 generics.

Did you see how pathetic phoenix squadron is? And how poorly hera did in an A? No, no thank you. It was basically the stormtrooper's of the rebels, to give a feeling of lose on the rebel side.

Well, there's Pash Cracken, Linna and Edor Crespin from the Rogue and Wraith series of novels for A-wing stuff. I'd be just as happy with that. Anyway, I'll take your response as a no to interested in Rebels A-wing :)

Also with a special rule that you have to remove one Phoenix Squadron pilot from the game each round if Darth Vader TIE Advanced is on the board.

edit: Rouge does not equal Rogue

In one of the Season 3 preview clips Ezra pilots a two-seater A-wing, so that's another pilot and a mod/title.

As for the second ship for the expansion, I don't like the idea of adding a B-wing (one pilot, very brief apperance, BS beam of doom), but there is another option:

- Attack Shuttle, with a title or a mod giving it an astromech slot, Kanan, Chopper and I think Ahoska piloted it in the show;

OR we could wait and see what season 3 brings us, there are two potential candidates:

- new shuttle, seen in the trailer, attachable to the Ghost;

- Y-wings, I bet there will be some new (or old, Wedge, Tycho?) pilots.

Ahsoka could also get a pilot card of for the Ghost and a crew card, and Chopper's astromech slot version is long overdue.

Only the episode where they got wiped out by Darth Vader; but I have issues with that. I still want to try 8 or 12 prototype pilots vs a fully tooled up Vader in the TIE Advanced.

Regardless of how Hera did in the series, in game she'd be a PS 7 with EPT (or two) and the ability to switch any green to any other green using the A-wing dial.

Prototype A-wing. It would basically be an A-wing with Chardaan Refit built in (as I've mentioned before, I don't recall a missile ever being fired from an A-wing in Rebels). But mostly just an excuse to sell a miniature with the prototype-style A-wing, which I'd totally buy.

It has larger cannons, I see 3 red dice!

Ahsoka and Hera in A-Wings would be cool. Needs just two generics. Though I would like to see a heavy title which adds a third attack dice for those rebel A-Wings, but I guess it would need some serious drawback as well. Something like a decent amount of points and "when you reveal your maneuver reduce the speed of by one to a minimum of one"

For generics: Phoenix Rookies and Veterans would be enough.

Ironically there is as well Shera Bay and Dicer as options for new A-Wing pilots.

I feel like there are enough differences between the rebles style A-wing (Wider fuselage, bigger guns, different cockpit) and the ROTJ A-wing to justify a new model rather than a "aces" expansion. (If you don't think so, just look at the different Tie variants and the T-65/T-70 X-wing). Plus the various "new" pilots we could get from that. Perfect opportunity for the Rebels to break this no generics streak they're going through.

Of course if the same model was used they could always create a new epic ship based on the hammerhead corvettes and include a repaint in there...

Pls no. Waves are for new stuff, aces for repaints and beefing up old stuff. Slightly different models can be made for ace espansion (Heroes of the Ressistance), but I don't think it's necessary.

Be careful what you wish for. There's an A-wing 2.0 in episode 8 is coming too.

We'll be drowning in the things before long as is. :P

I take them too. In my heart I am gonna be always an Avenger and Interceptor Pilot, but the A-Wing is the next best Rebel thing, so I will always have a soft spot for it.

X-Wings? If I hear one more time that they need to be good because of the name of the game I am gonna start a petition to rename the game TIE-Fighter. It is good enough for that name anyway. ;-)

I still want my 16 point Prototype B6 (AKA Orange B-wing Prototype)

Just knock it down to 2 hull and 4 shields and replace the systems slot with a crew slot and call it good. Minor dial adjustments. (remove 1 hard, make 2 hard red and swap the 2k for the 3k) and wollah a brand new fighter that is good for 6 points.

As for the cannon just make it a unique superlaser prototype cannon make it a range 1 firepower 3 that cost 10 points and is a discard and spend focus token to use. If it hits cancel all results and deal 5 face up damage cards.

However in the meta the superlaser prototype would be nothing more than a palp assassin. However that does give the Rebels a palp assasian. Scum have Boba Fet, Rebels have the B-wing prototype. As for the Imperials, they have Moff Jerrod :P

An A-wing pack that introduced the EU rotating arc somehow. It included pilots from rebels would be pretty awesome.

Bring 'em on, I've always liked those little speed demons.

Hopefully the Episode 8 A-wing will have fully rotating lasers like the EU's A-wing Mark II did.

Unique, 5 dice, no crits like the HLC, range 1-2, only works every other turn. 7 points. Scares the aces from your arc, does not increase your damage per turn itself over the HLC. No need to make any B-Wing changes imho.

And against the mandos, and on a escort mission, and etc etc. It happened a lot.

idk, the only difference between Phoenix Squadron Pilot and the Prototype pilot is that they're immediately destroyed if Vader shows up on the opposite side of the table

I think if they did the Rebels A-wing I would hope it would be more along the lines the differences between the T-65 and T-70 X-wing so they can share some upgrades but are slightly different ships. Not too sure on what all they would give to the new version but maybe a crew version like someone mentioned due to the preview clip for season 3. Heck they could even call it a Stock A-wing, that way it sort of represents the version of the ship that the Imperial defectors gave to the Rebels and the A-wing we do have in the game currently serves more as the one the Rebels produced themselves or stripped down to make into an interceptor style ship.
