I noticed this pack has a ton of heros to choose from. does anyone use any of these heros?
Conversion pack, good or not?
The conversion pack allowed those individuals that had Descent 1st Edition to use heroes and monsters from that edition with D2e. It was very nice to have in the beginning, because of the variability it permitted with game play.
You can now find the same thing with the H&M (Hero and Monsters) Expansion packs. Each H&M comes with 4 heroes and 3 monsters from D1e. The difference is that the new H&M packs have had some modifications made to heroes and monsters to provide better balance for play within D2e. In addition, I happen to think that the scuplts are better looking (of course, that is a personal observation).
Edited by any2cardsExactly. Just want to further note that the conversion kit does NOT include any figures. Just cards to use with the old sculpts if you have the 1st edition.
Also, support for the conversion kit is not going to be continued I think, now that all H&M packs are out. You are unable to use it in Road to Legend for example.

Because I think I've read somewhere (in here) that there are 6-8 heroes from D1 still "missing".

There are actually 12 missing heroes as follows:
- Aurim
- Bogran The Shadow
- Brother Glyr
- Eliam
- Hugo The Glorious
- Kirga
- Landrec The Wise
- Laughin Buldar
- Mad Carthos
- Red Scorpion
- Tobin Farslayer
- Varikas The Dead
I wouldn't say there's much value in the conversion kit, even if you do happen to pick up a 1st Edition copy of Descent for the miniatures, the sculpts from the Heroes and Monsters packs are SO much better then what you'd be getting in the 1st Edition box that your better off investing money in the new stuff. Yes we are missing 12 heroes and yes all monsters are remade, however we did also get 2 new monsters (Crow Hags and Dark Minotaur) in a monster pack so nothing says they won't release the heroes along with new monsters in another pack...
Although I was disappointed that another pack was not yet announced.
Imo the Conversion Kit is a very good purchase under certain circumstances: If you don't know if you really like the game and want to expirience what the game can do when a lot of varience is introduced, you play mainly 1vs.many and your money is tight, it's still a very good purchase imo.
However if you plan to play mainly the app-modus it is the worst expansion and if you know you like this game and money isn't tight I would probably get other expansions over this.
The conversion kit is really nice to have, and well worth it's value, if you already have Descent 1st Edition and it's expansions.
If you don't, well, it's next to useless, and it's meaningless to even think about getting it.
The Conversion kit is Obsolete now. Don't buy it. Save your money up for the H&M collections, as you'll get the updated versions of the heroes and monsters, miniatures and extra quests. The conversion Kit was create early on as a means to use Descent 1st Edition heroes and monsters. But it's useless nowadays.

The issue really is that (going by FFG:s own prices) the entire Conversion Kit is ~$30, while every single H&M Collection is ~$35.
In the very long haul, it's a better idea to get the H&M Collections, since the Conversion Kit becomes increasingly obsolete if you get the H&M Collections, but if you already have all the Descent 1st Ed. stuff, the Conversion Kit is really, really worth the investment. For ~$30, you get access to a ton of heroes and monsters.
Now, if you end up getting all of the H&M Collections anyway, those ~$30 will eventually have been wasted, so I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying that the Conversion Kit can be a really good investment.
As a bonus, all the models you're using will at least have the same size.

It's not really that good of an investment. Some of the heroes do have their abilities tweaked as well for balance issues. Plus the fact that I feel it would be confusing to substitute minis for the monsters and heroes your using. I mean... sure, if you want to cut corners then Conversion Kit it up. If you want something immersive, then spend the time and get H&Ms.
If you play without the RtL app, or have Descent 1 edition then it's worth getting. If you plan to buy the Hero & Monsters packs you only gain the 12 heroes not in those packs.
