Would anybody like to see....?

By Emirikol, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Would anybody be interested in sample characters to download? I'm thinking of doing up the Demo characters first on regular sheets and then uploading more as I go. Maybe one for each career. I would try to make them balanced instead of the typical ONE-TRICK-PONIES that my players like to create ;)

After FINALLY getting through my boxed set last night, it just seems like it needed some more sample characters.

Sure, nothing else they would make good NPCs - gogogo!

I would love to see a bunch of sample characters.

Like mentioned, they'd provide a bunch of ready-made NPCs...but for myself, I'd simply like to see examples to make sure I'm doing things right.

Thanks in advance should it happen

Maybe we could just bung in some PCs to this thread and then you can convert the ones you want. Coz I was thinking a thread of PCs would be a good idea, anyway. I put this guy on Kalidor's thread:

Barnabas Pawel

Reiklander Smuggler

Str 3
To 3
Ag 3
Int 4
WP 2
Fel 4

Wealth: Comfortable
Skills: Skulduggery, Guile (Appear Innocent), Stealth
Talents: Connected, Better Lucky Than Good
Actions: Scrutinise, I Thought We Were Friends, Big City Bravado

Here’s some character that I made, though I’m not sure when I’ll ever get to actually be a player. I thought he might be some sort of charismatic young member of a crime family in Kemperbad who is a bit appalled by the violence inherent in that sort of thing and thinks he can set out for Altdorf with his life savings and make a new start there doing entirely illegal stuff, but trying to avoid violence and nastiness. Although he’s ruthless when he needs to close a deal, or at least thinks he is, he’s too pleasant to be a criminal, bordering on the naive.

He’s wears leathers and has a dagger but doesn’t really know how to use it.

And this is Kalidor's guy:

So, I present to you.......Cyrin Lechler, Barber-Surgeon extroidinaire!

Human Reiklander-

STR- 2
TGH- 3
AGI- 2

INT- 5
WIL- 2
FEL- 4

Trained Skills: Discipline, First Aid (specializing in Combat Surgery) and Leadership.

Talent: Resourceful and the Barber-Surgeon career talent

Action cards: Melee Strike, Ranged Strike, Assess the Situation, Perform a Stunt, Block, Improved Guarded Position, Coordinated Strike, Inspiring Words, and Splints & Bandages.

He is affluent, with many to all of the typical trappings associated with his career (I took a few extra silvers off his total to reflect the scissors, scalpel, etc.) Total $$$ remaining is 4 Gold and 40 Silver.

He wields an axe, primarily, with a dagger as back-up.

He wears Leather armour and a small buckler.

Again, I went with that support concept and I think this version will be much more useful to the party.
I still intended him to be more of a roleplaying-type character, and will have him constantly make odd suggestions about the other party members' haircuts, etc...
I'll also have him flick that eye monocle-thing down when he says something "important", such as at the start of a battle, Cyrin will scream out "Alright boys! Just a little off the top now!"

Corny...but lovin' it!

Any thoughts? Suggestions?

One of the comments from BGG was that maybe I should raise that Willpower score...

M: Great format. I expanded it:

I decided using the official character sheet is completely redundant and not laid out using the same terminology that was used to create them. I'll probably just use the format above.

Another thing: The racial ability and Career ability should just be on the character sheet listing. Card..naw..not necessary IMHO.

Mundri has been around the block as a mercenary, fighting in various campaigns on behalf of the Empire. Although a handy fighter he is probably better known amongst his peers for his cooking ability. Constantly on the lookout for new dishes to add to his cookbook he hopes to have published when he has saved up the funds. He is still yet to find dishes that beat those of his mother, and he will quickly fall out with anyone who doesnt agree.

However on his last campaign his long term soldiering partner Karl Rudison died and this has hit him hard. Although it wasnt his fault he now feels a real responsibilty towards Karls widow Sally Rudison and son Felix Mundri Rudison (Yes, Karl and Sally did name him after Mundri). Paying off all Karls old gambling debts with most of his savings, he now needs to seek employment to be able to both pay for his book to be printed and support Sally and Felix.

Sample character #1 from DAY LATE SHILLING SHORT

Birgitta Tageshlicht
Sex/Race: Female Reiklander

Career Ability: see card
Race Ability: p.22

Equipment: see official listing in the scenario

Birgitta is no-nonsense, confident, and extremely goal-oriented. She is the nucleus of the group and its leader (despite being the youngest member) simply by her station – as a Roadwarden, she’s an extension
of the Empire’s laws in these lands. Her father Bertrand was a Roadwarden as well, and lacking sons he raised Birgitta to follow in the family tradition. He has recently died in the line of duty, slain by beastmen in the Reikwald Forest. She conducts herself stoically, but secretly has a chip on her shoulder, eager to prove to her father (and herself) that she is a worthy successor of his legacy.
