I feel you, imperial brethren. Our signature ship has been stolen by those filthy-pawed rebel scum. But fear not, let me tell you why this is a great wave for imperials!

1) The main reason is because FFG have done it again and seem to have taken what (I thought) was a pretty clunky ship design and made a beautiful looking model. It's bloody gorgeous. Look into its single red eye and tell me it doesn't make you want crush goody-2-shoes rebels whilst furiosuly hitting expensive-looking consoles with a lightsabre...

2) The Upsilon is not only prettier than it has any right to be, but looks like a shed load of fun to build. Such customisation, much crew tech thankyou. The Ghost was such great dessign because it allows for so many builds, and the Upsilon is looking to be hitting the same spot. Great news for all the imperial compulsive list-builders out there...

3) If you're going to bend the timeline, why not do it with style ? Yep, Kylo's favourite wingman is going to be pop-pop in an X1!

4) Kylo/Vader could also act as a very nice scout counter - vader lays on a crit, ren turns it to blinded pilot through the shield. Very nasty.

5) Finally, for waves and waves, while scum and rebels have been getting lovely newly-sculpted toys to play with, we've been getting tie after tie after tie. Tbh, FFG have kind of been reminding me of my mum when she caught me smoking out in the shed, and as punishment, made me smoke a whole pack. I mean, I like ties, but a whole pack? So it seems quite amusing that rebels are getting a tie, now, when we've reached peak-tie.

So there you have it: for a while imperial ship design has been a bit iffy* compared to the beauties gifted to the other factions, but now it's our turn to get the keys to the new hotness.

*In sculpt & identity - not in performance. I mean, c'mon. The Inquisitor.

I agree! I am amazingly excited for this Shuttle. I don't play imperials outside of Epic at the moment, but this will make me want to play the First Order. (so many F/O and S/F)

while I play imperials the least out of the 3 factions (they're very popular locally, Empire city and all that, and also my **** name ), I think I'll have to buy this baby on looks alone

finally, imperials have something that can compete with the K and ARC in the realm of sheer awesome wingspan

see, Kylo Ren costs the same as Moralo, the PS 6 YV-666 (so much 6)

which gives us a sorta guess as to the cost of the PS 2, i.e 29 points (same as the YV)

so, the Lamba w/Palp costs as much as the UPS with NOTHING

so "better" isn't necessarily the word I'd use

also note, the Shuttle's stat-line is incredible with 4 red dice, but we don't know the dial...

the lambda's stat-line is also incredible for its cost, but we do know it has the worst dial in the game outside the STOP maneuver

But I'm not convinced that 9 extra points will be well spent on upgrading from a Lambda to an Upsilon. I actually think Vadercrew might suit this ship quite well but of course we'll have to wait and see...

honestly, with four red dice, I really want to make it work as a straight up gunship rather than a support vessel

the dial will have to play a little bit of ball for that to happen, but with got a lot of tech and a system slot to help us out

Imperials have such a rich spread of price points for their aces, it would be great to see a new big ship that takes that into account. Omega, Vader and Kylo onboard a pimped Upsilon could be a thing...

The Yv-666 comparison feels apt. Lots of customization, meaty hull, and a terrifying front arc. Feels like it just trades the auxiliary arc for a fourth red die and coordinate. Is that a decent trade? Depends on the dial, ultimately.

We might see Expert Handling for better range control, since it probably won't have a K-turn.

Edit: Assuming 29 points base, Palp in an Upsilon comes to 37. That's 63 points for the Aces. Pretty tight- Inquisitor+Soontir without a second mod eats all of that right up.

You get a lot for that supposed 8-9 points. 2 more hitpoints, another attack die (which is huge), and coordinate action. I kind of hope the dial doesn't have the 0 stop.

I bet the dial will be worse than the shuttle e.g. no 0-stop.

I look at this ship, and my first thought is that there is no freaking way that it will fit into any sort of reasonable box. Its going to go in its packaging on a shelf stripped of upgrades next to the ghost where it will never be used. R.I.P. U-Shuttle. May you forever fight the good fight against the rabbits of dust.

Am I the only guy worried about the difficulty of putting the model on the table? No matter how you keep the wings it will be a chore to not knock this over.
