General Weiss, General Sorin + Advanced Com System, 2x Elite Officer, 2x Officer, Zillo Technique

By ParaGoomba Slayer, in Imperial Assault Skirmish

The idea is to swing with the AT-ST at least 4 times a turn. Potentially more if I draw Single Purpose and To The Limit.

Sorin allows the AT-ST to surge to focus and acts as a third elite officer. This isn't just an AT-ST swinging 4 times, this is a likely focused AT-ST swinging 4 times.

AT-ST has double surge for blast 3. When Sorin orders it to attack, it gets an additional blast 1 innately.

Zillo is great. The Command Cards that I discard for Zillo come from my hand, right?

Speaking of command cards, my deck is stacked with cards that heal.

I've only played it on the Nelvanian Warzone map, but I imagine that you could just park your ass and hammer the Dianoga. You have the requisite pierce, range, and damage to do it easier than a lot of other things.

The plan would be vulnerable to stun without unshakeable. But looks like it would be fun to run once or twice.

The unyielding and unchanging problem with investing pretty much your entire 40pt alotment into one heavy hitter is that said heavy hitter, no matter how heavy and hittery, can still only kill one 3pt eTrooper per attack (with the odds being that trooper will be raised from the dead anyway) or can still waste all of it's heavy hittiness on a Dodge enacted by a 2pt Officer or Alliance Smuggler.

I think that's why he wants to try it on the Dianoga map.

I dunno. I admit I'm pretty new to IA, but I played against this and it seemed pretty effective with the AT-ST able to attack up to six times per round.

Yeah, if it dies the list falls apart, but it's pretty hard to kill even before all the repair command cards. Killing all the officers giving orders reduces it, but they can be hard to get to if they stay behind the AT-ST.

Yep, on that one specific mission it'll probably be pretty good.

If you find it fun and you want to play it, go for it. But keep in mind that it has a very glaring disadvantage vs skirmish lists that are generally considered 'good' and it has very obvious weaknesses that veteran players will very easily exploit.

sorin droid list...eats you for breakfast.

If you want to play Sorin with Advanced Com, you should get as many focused attacks as possible.

I played this recently:

2 eProbes

4 Probes

Sorin + Advanced Com

eOfficer

2 Officers

8 times 4 dice attack per round. Lots of Stun for Wookies or Banthas etc. Lots of Mobility. 10 activations.

I'm probably taking Sorin to UK Nationals so will let you know how it goes next week.

My list is:

Rule By Fear

Zillo Technique

Sorin (Advanced Comms)

3 Officers

4 Probe Droids

2 Elite Probe Droids

Hits like an absolute truck on missions where you can focus them up before engaging, working well for me so far but is a bit strange to play as you've only ever got one shot per activation, then generally lots of activations once opponent has gone.

There are 2-3 games with it recorded up on my YouTube channel if you're interested

I tried Zillo. In 3 games there was no opportunity to use it. Therefore, I dropped it. The additional attack by the eOfficer really rocked.

I would think that grenades and blast would be kind of scary for you. You could lose officers pretty quick. I'd also be concerned on certain maps about a strike force hitting your flank, Sorin and officers can go down really quick and then your ATST get's less effective. Even with focus, you may still be wishing for a targeting computer. I played a similar list (but with 2 tanks) and while it was a bloodbath, I still got beat by wookies.

Zillo is a must have in any Imperial list. It can extend the life of your groups, and that's what matters most in this game.

Zillo is fantastic, I'd rename it "alive by one" The amount of times it saves that guy who would be dead and now takes a whole other shot to kill is fantastic

I play against it (don't play imperials enough) and it is very frustrating to play against. You do have to have some command cards you're willing to discard though. The second part of the card is where the most action is. I don't see the exhaust to cancel pierce 2 that often. But my opponents will add one block all the time, making me spend another attack.
