The Rebel TIE

By Sir Orrin, in X-Wing

I'm kinda happy to see rebels getting a TIE fighter.

Finally they will get a taste on what's losing one ship to a single shot.

never had a Z get direct hit, eh?

heh, probably the funniest thing i ever did to a Z-95 was i shot an Adv Homer at it and he drew double damage....

i took about 10 minutes to stop laughing.

Especially since Sabine's TIE specifically is 15pts naked, fully expecting her to become the rebel's goto bumper. Cheap, pre-maneuver barrelroll or boost, can add a few points for some crew shenanigans if you wish. The shuttle as it is can be a pain in the butt with the right skills but its also a bit pricy and doesnt have as great of a dial.

PS5 instead of 1 is a bit of a problem though, so I still see Prototype Pilot getting some action.

I don't watch the show, but is yellow a big color scheme on Rebels?

It's kind of the signature style of Sabin Wren who is an street artist with explosives and spray cans. Which is often literally the same has she has orange and yellow explosive paintbombs and iirc some explosive paints as well. So yeah, kind of big.

Ok, I just noticed when a ship has color (other than grey scale) from Rebels, it is always yellow.

Not true. The CR90's and A-Wings of Phoenix Squad have been seen with blue, green and red markings. The only other yellow ships we've seen, IIRC, are those of the TIEs of the Miner's Union.

Now, imagine rebel faces when they lose Sabine to a simple [hit] + [crit] result

It will be something like "OMG, this could happen?.... Have you been playing LIKE THIS for NINE waves!!!???"

It's almost as if Rebels don't already have a blockers for that cost!

It's not like a named ties much of a threat it's the principle, it's always other factions getting imperial stuff.

Uh, wasn't that the point of Rebels and Scum?

The ship, it's pilots, upgrades, and point costs does fill an interesting place in the rebel lists. It's probably not going to be worth spending lots of points on these, but it does open up lots of options in the sub 20 point range where there weren't alot of,options before.

Clearly the Empire should get YT1300 Q-Ships. Or YT2400.

Or prototype Xwings, from when Incom was working for the Empire.

I'd also take a Blue painted Corvette, as long as it is instead of the Scum epic. :P .

Surplus Ywings? Maybe we can get our turret ship by it being all unique pilots only as well.

Everything you've just said could have been done without diluting faction identity and releasing a ship that's been released countless times already.

Honestly? I'm surprised we haven't seen some stolen Imperial ships in the Rebel faction earlier. This is surprisingly harmless.

I'd be on your side if they introduced any of the rebel pilots (Wedge?) in interceptors.

Agreed. Between the "Fly Casual" motto on the forums and the aptly named podcasts featuring a certain Lambda, I'm also surprised FFG hasn't trolled us with a Rebel Lambda Shuttle.

Pilot Han PS 8, "You may deploy your shuttle behind your opponent in his deployment area"

- "It's an older code, sir, but it checks out. I was about to let them through..."

That would be awesome. I like the deployment idea, too. Sounds like a new Condition Card: Fly casual. . .until it's time to NOT fly casual.

The new Tech upgrade card Hyper*** Com** seems to allow something while placing. (hyperspace?)

The Captu** Captured TIE fighter title on the Sabine TIE. Could come for other ships as well.

Seems even to be there some kind of condition Su** When capt*** about not being attacked.

The Empire should get new sculpts of Z-95s as well as Y-wings, and reprints of ARC-170s. Not to mention V-wings and Eta-2s, and my favorite, V-19 Torrents. If they can change the scupts of the Falcon and T-70, they can do it for the Empire too.

Of course Scum would get he V-wing as well, sorry.

Sabine's TIE should have been the first to get a "unique dot" on the ship type line. But I guess then it would be harder to sell multiples...

The Captu--- upgrade is a modification, the Mo-- can be seen on the card.

Yes, OK, you are probably right.

"·Stolen TIE Fighter"

It's a TIE fighter though.

In universe it's the single least unique ship there is.

As Corran Horn once said, it's the third most common thing in the galaxy after hydrogen and stupidity.

Still waiting for the following TIEs:

Scout

Boarding Craft (bomber title?)

Avenger

Scimitar (not technically a TIE)

Eta-2 (proto-TIE)

Pac-TIE (scum tie!)

Aggressor (turret!)

And we get a(mother) recolor /ln. But a cool one. And did I mention this super cool ship called

GUNBOAT

that is the number one requested ship in these forums?

Yeah I like the Reb TIE and I will get one, or two. And it makes sense because there's so many Fighters that were rolled off the assembly line. But there's still lots of ships we can have in this game that can expand the capabilities of all the factions.

GUNBOAT!

#nevergunboat

Well, every faction had shared ships except between imperials and rebels so it's only natural.

Besides, the more rage it generates, the better.

I have only this to say.

Also, the Rebels had captured Lambdas for just about all their running about (as we see in the X-Wing DOS game).

IMHO this ship (the stolen rebel tie) itself is a unique so you should only ever be able to he one on the board no matter who the pilot is.

To add insult to injury for those opposed to it, i'm using Sabine's paint job model in my Empire fleet.

That's not regulation.

Well, the pilots are unique, but more importantly Sabine's Masterpiece - the point of taking it - is also unique.

Rebels don't need it as a blocker - it's more a cheap, manoeuvrable (but **** fragile) crew caddy - the HWK isn't actually that cheap by the time you've bolted a turret onto it, whilst Zeb gives you a cheap as hell way to put Jan Ors, or a Black Market Slicer on the board - and if you're not all that bothered about getting shots with her, she's definitely manoeuvrable enough to avoid getting shot back at .

As it seems so far, the Nebulon-B is no longer an Imperial designed ship.

I think there is already cross faction ships, like the Z-95 and Y-wing. I'm fine with Sabine's Tie Fighter in the game. It's still just a Tie Fighter and the title is unique.

A Tie Fighter is just the type of thing that gets stolen by the Rebels. They are everywhere.

I hope it stays this way. This ship screams REBEL
