The Rebel TIE

By Sir Orrin, in X-Wing

Remember when Para complained about PWTs? And sung the praises of things like Soontir and Arc dodgers?

Pepperidge farm remembers.

But Sabine does fly a tie fighter in Rebels, and lots of people like that and actually I never even dreamed they would make Sabine's tie, but I love that they have. It's a shame they can't really restrict it to only one of the pilots a liSt. I guess they could have just made one pilot card, or made them all Sabine.

I was surprised that they did not make the ship unique as well as the pilot.

Once a Goomba, always a Goomba.

Palp Aces are good right now while Rebel regen has suffered and triple toilets still screws most lists that would counter ace-wing while lists that counter toilets get eaten by Palpy and friends. We've got 2 waves heading our way that will shake up the mets when they hit and people learn to use the new ships effectively. Then that will be the new palp aces.

The title is unique, and there's only unique pilots in the expansion, so.... the ship is unique. Plus I wouldn't want to spend 15 bucks on just one pilot.

You already do on ships like the e-wing and t-70, OL is the only fo ever flown.

There, fixed it.

But you get a fully functional TIE, just slightly against regulations for your TIE-Swarm. I am literally tempted to buy 7 and fly them as a complete imperial swarm ;-)

Naturally if your swarm is already complete the temptation to buy more … is still there for epic :P

True, but that just invites FFG to add Vulture Droids to the Imperial fleet, and nobody wants that.

What? How do you come to that conclusion?

At least the stolen TIE has been a regular occurence in a modern-era show.

The stolen TIE was not a regural occurence in any modern-era show.

2 or 3 out of 15 episodes from season 1? And they still have it as far as I know as they escaped with sabin's TIE and the Inquisitors TIE on the Season 1 final.

First appeared in episode 4, then not seen for 11 episodes, then not seen in the whole season, 22 epiosodes. That's not how "regural occurence" works.

Gozanti and the TIEs weren't a part of the Phoenix fleet in any of the Season 2 episodes, so I doubt they still have them, but of course it's possible.

I think my very first post on these forums was to defend someone complaining about the Phantom that was apparently posting from a sock puppet account and was getting flak for that as if that made his arguments any less true, instead of having people actually argue his points.

There was a time when I thought fat turrets were just a symptom of the Phantom Menace and would go away if the Phantom went away. I was under the mistaken impression that the rock paper scissors/turret swarm phantom triangle was actually even. Turns out Fat Turretwing lists beat full swarms half the time anyways.

I don't recall a time where I sung the praises of arc dodgers while hating turrets. Maybe there was a period in time where I didn't hate Soontir, pre-Palpatine, pre-Soontir being in every single list. I'm sorry for not being omniscient, for not hating something before I get much experience against it.

Every wave 7 game against a Rebel player was me chasing Poe around all game as he regenerated and ran away and out damage mitigated me. It was awful. I would be perfectly okay with never seeing another regen ship again. Rebel regen isn't really a counter to Palp Aces, it's just the rebel version of it. Invincible ships getting 10 shields upgrades from one 3-4 point upgrade.

So people are upset that Rebels are getting a single ship that belonged to another faction just with different pilots?

Were these same people just as upset when Scum and Villainy was announced and was filled with nothing but Rebel and Imperial ships that had different pilots (or same pilots with new abilities)? Y-Wing, Z-95's, Firespray, and HWK. Because I don't remember much complaining then.

But maybe I wasn't checking the forums as much then.

We don't play with triple scout, actually we only use a max of 1 large per side anyway in a 100 point deathmatch. So all sides look decent even if not every pilot sees table time.
